Congratulations on all your steps so far xx
I too am a bit of a night owl - struggling to sleep more likely as i'm also up at 6am most days but i have noticed that this week since my LBM instead of passing the time internet shopping, i now pass it creating my spreadsheet! I'm a bit of en excel novice so it's all a bit basic but coming on now. I'm really hoping it will help me break even this month instead of once again spending more than i earn!!
As for the challenges - i'm up for one next month if you want a team mate? This months challenge is finding the cash for that CC Mistake!
I must say i love reading your diary - keep up the great posts together we will all become debt free!!!Joining Day Debts: £28933.09 - 01/03/15
Debts today: £27905.72
Payment a week 15 - £25.05

You're doing brilliantly Humming:)
You should start to notice the extra pennies you're keeping hold of very soon - and yep at first maybe it does seem like only pennies but they quickly grow... I've never in my entire life until this MSE experience paid any attention to being wise with money - nor truly respected it -so these are great lessons all across the board for many of us and really helpful for the future.I hope you start feeling the positive differences creeping in soon. Loads of love coming your way :heart2: BOOM!

Found you lovely!! You're making awesome progress
I record every expenditure & transaction in an app called 'coinkeeper', it's a real eye opener!! I think YNAB is similar
It's so good seeing where your money is going!!
I used to be a shopaholic too, due to low self-esteem. These days I find shopping such a chore though and would rather be playing on a spreadsheet!! Very sad :rotfl:

CC - Yes that would be great to do a challenge together next month! Perhaps we could have a look through and decide what we'd like to do! I've just re-joined the "Make £10/day for March" but as I've joined it late (and the month is already speeding by) it won't be easy to hit the target (but will try!!:j)
Levi - Here's a bigcoming your way too BOOM! LOL! As you can see I'm not at home writing this!! Thanks for reminding me that all the pennies add up. As you say it's only small amounts to start with but it was making constant small purchases that did the damage in the first place. And many of those were on coffee of all things.....more on that soon! Hope you & LL are feeling a bit better today!
Loopy - Welcome to the merry band of ex-shopaholics!! LOL! I know what you mean about the low self-esteem thing and shopping. They certainly do go together. I was at such a loose end a lot of the time when I was like this - I'd lost a lot of "friends" (more on that later.....:( ) and just didn't know what to do with any free time I had. But today is a new day!!!!:T Looking forward to reading all your progress too hun x£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

Posting my usual "night owl" update earlier tonight - I will need to get to bed early as it will be a challenging day tomorrow.
I'm going to the funeral of a very close friend tomorrow. I know I haven't fully taken it in that we've lost her - but I expect that will hit me all too hard tomorrow.
She was such a rock to me when I was going through those bad times, and as she was going through similar at the time I did my best to support her too - we spent a lot of time together that's for sure.
I've been really blessed because the funeral is at quite a distance from where I live but my friend's brother-in-law is going to give me a lift as he lives quite near me - so kind of him. It will also be great not to have to go on my own - I really appreciate that.£10 a day extra in May '18[B]£35/310[

Oh chick
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope tomorrow goes as well as these things can go. I'm sure it will be hard, but also lovely reminiscing about the things you & your friend did.
Take care xxxxxThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

So sorry for your loss hummingbird. I went to the funeral of a close friend last month, her death in January hit me like a ton of bricks as it was totally unexpected and she was so young, 23, 4 years younger than me. It was even harder as she died on that Thai island where there were two Brits murdered last year (my friend died of unexplained natural causes) so it was all over the press as well. Ugh. The funeral wasn't actually as awful as I was expecting, it was a real celebration of her life and uplifting. So I do hope your friend's funeral will also be of that ilk and I know what you're going through. XxCleared my credit card debt of £7123.58 in a year using YNAB! Debt free date 04/12/2015.
Enjoying sending hundreds of pounds a month to savings rather than debt repayment!0
