Stansted Airport Rip Off

Took my son to Stanstead Airport this week and was shocked at having to pay £2 just to stop outside the terminal for 1 minute. I've googled this and realise this was introduced a couple of years ago and you can park off the airport and get a free bus in.

I feel this is a total rip off and will not be using Stansted Airport again.

There is a free drop off, and an express drop off where you pay £2. Hardly rip-off of the century is it?

Well there is ... but VCS will then send you an invitation to pay them £100 (£60 if paid within 14 days).

Why do you consider it a rip off when:

1/ The drop off fee is clearly advertised online, giving people the opportunity to decide beforehand whether to drop off or not,

2/ There is a free alternative available by using their bus service.

And the cost of driving to the nearest alternative with a free drop off area is :rotfl:

Why would I look online first if I'm just dropping someone off at an airport? I'm not parking in a car park, I'm pulling up into a layby and dropping someone off.

2/ There is a free alternative available by using their bus service.

Yes but until you get up to near the terminal building and realise you have to pay there's nowhere to turn around to go a different way.
