Help! Shuttle Transfer Information Please!

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me as I have been unsuccessful in finding a relevant thread.

I booked a package holiday. Flights with Thomas Cook, Hotel with A1 Travel and ashared shuttle service via Resorthoppa.

Now I have noticed that my travel details show NBE to Yasmine Hammamet when I am actually going to Djerba. I have entered in to a contract with Resorthoppa to take me to and from the airport and my hotel... yet I am being taken some 6 hours away from my actual hotel.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue?

I'm yet to hear back from Resorthoppa or the travel agent.

This may just be a simple error that can be cleared up. There's not much you can do until you have a response from A1 Travel and Resorthoppa. However if they don't play ball I'd insist with A1 Travel sort it or arrange new transfers at their expense given you presumably booked the whole thing on their site at the same time?

By the way, you haven't booked a package holiday, you've booked "flights plus". You have a contract with Thomas Cook for your flights, with Resorthoppa for your transfers, and with an accommodation provider for you hotel. A1 Travel act as an agent in arranging these contracts.

I've been trying to get a response for the last few days, hence me now asking on here, however, as if by magic I have received an email advising I will have a response to my query within 24 hours. Yes the whole holiday was booked together via the same website.

As for the 'package holiday', I do apologise for my mistake, i couldn't see an edit option after I made the thread.

I think A1 Travel will be your travel agent here, and they will have booked your flights through Thomas Cook, transfers with Resort Hoppa and your accommodation voucher should tell you who your hotel is booked with. (A1 don't, as far as I know, have any direct contracts with hotels so this will be another third party supplier).

Djerba is an island, so if you have flights into Djerba I would expect that you would need to stay on the island. Where does your hotel voucher say that you are staying?

It sounds to me as though they have put the holiday together wrong and have managed to book you into a hotel in hamammet and perhaps not realised that you are flying into Djerba.

If this is the case and you have accomm in Hamammet and flights to Djerba then you really need to speak to them. They may try and push this back on to you. If the flights were displayed on screen as being Djerba and the accomm was shown as Hamammet then they will say that you may the choice, however personally I don't think this should have ever been an option though due to the distance so I would pick up the phone and try to speak to them.

OP can you cough up some factual details please?
- which airport are your flights booked into?
- which hotel has been booked?
- Are the details you gave in post #1 ('travel details show NBE to Yasmine Hammamet') the Resorthoppa details?
- where did you actually want to go?

the more we have to make assumptions the more confusing it gets...

Sorry, mgdavid, my phone isn't the best and I couldn't reread or edit my post.

Here are the details:

Holiday is a flight from Birmingham airport Tunisia. Thomas Cook
The transfer is then from NBE to Yasmine Hammamet. Resorthoppa
Yet the hotel I'm booked in to is in Djerba (I cannot remember off thhe top of my head the actual name).

This is 6 hours away from the destination of Yasmine and at present I'm waiting for an update from the holiday company on what they intend to do about the transfers.

Ok, so you're flying into Hammamet and a transfer has booked with Resorthoppa to a hotel in Hammamet.

But Why would you want to fly into Hammamet when you're staying in Djerba which is 6 hours away? You need to be flying into DJE. Was this pointed out to you when you booked?

The only thing I can think is that there is then a service run by the hotel down to Djerba, possibly to a sister hotel. So you need to ask them how are they going to get you from Hammamet to your hotel.

One of these elements is definitely wrong, either the flight, the hotel or the transfer, but I can't see Resorthoppa doing a 6 hour transfer TBH.

Did you chose the hotel yourself? If so I would imagine they won't want to honour the transfer and tbh you wouldn't want to do it anyway.

A similar thing was mentioned on here when someone had booked flights into northern Egypt and they'd then selected a hotel over an hours flight away. DIY sites should have blocks to prevent this but research is also improtant

You need to look at your hotel voucher and see what the name of the hotel is and what resort it's in. From what details you have given it sounds to me as though you have a holiday in hamammet booked and won't be going to djerba at all.

I am definitely going to Djerba. 100% certain as I contacted the hotel to ask a question related to the room.
I selected the holiday as it was advertised, above. The only details given of the transfer were that you go from the specified airport to your hotel on the booking, departing from the airport 1 hour after arrival in Tunisia and the same for my return journey from the hotel to the airport. however, since having my booking information I can see that the destination for resorthoppa is yasmine hammamet.

As you've already been told, it's unlikely Resorthoppa would offer a 500km airport transfer. That's the equivalent of flying into Newcastle and getting a transfer to London! Their website doesn't seem to offer it.

Do you have a link to the deal you booked? I can't tell whether it was you or them that made the mistake, which would impact on what you do next. When I've tried to go through the process by selecting flights to Enfidha but a hotel in Djerba it won't offer the transfer.
