norm haven't got the Debit Card yet so the experience is still to come for me. I'd be interested in feedback from those who have completed their switch, but will add to this thread when I've made my call.

I usually leave an odd amount in my (old) switch account, so it looks as if it has been used. I also make at least one deposit to and one payment from the new account before any incentive is due - again to give the appearance of use.

This is probably totally unnecessary, but I don't want to risk any bank closing my shiny new account due to a perceived lack of use ;)

I have something in the donor account so I can tell the switch has happened.

Well M and S continue to astound me with their incompetence.
They called and told me "due to a nationwide hitch they had lost my switching account information and could I tell them it all again please?" Oh and we cant switch on the agreed date either the soonest we can start it would be the 31st March. They called on the day the switch was supposed to start.
    HOPELESS!

I switched to M&S bank last year and to be honest, I am not impressed. As many of you say, no mobile app, needing the little security keyboard thing to do anything; I couldn't find it for a few days and asked for a replacement and they said no try looking for it as they don't like customers to have more than one!!
The website I struggle to get on frequently, and the telephone customer support is poor too, so I am moving on again.

Ooh that is annoying isn't it! Probably my biggest gripe. I think an app is coming though. I either got a letter or an email about it a months or so ago. I would be moving on too if it wasn't for the 6% regular saver.

I'm not a big fan of their online banking, or the little 'Belt and Braces Pass' but the £125 gift card was nice, and I've now set the account up to run itself, with an SO in for £250 per month, a few days before the SO goes the Monthly Saver.

I wouldn't let my irritation with the website deprive me of 6%

If you are near a M&S bank branch I would recommend visiting them to do the switch.

I got a bottle of sparkling water and chocolates when I did my switch – certainly beats queuing on the phone for 20 minutes (at your cost). The branches are usually quiet – so you can turn up and get seen quickly.

Unlike the HSBC and FD equivalents for some reason their security keys don't have a tag which allows you to add it to a key ring.

M&S seem to spend a lot of effort on branding - has anyone received the debit card with the woman's leg jutting out of a coffee mug with other garish images which make it hard to look at - but this very basic accessory is missing.

How long did it take to get the £100 gift card for those who have managed to switch. My account has been opened for 6 weeks but switch is still in process due to their issues.

And how do the points work??? I've spent over £700 on my M and S credit card in different shops but my points total still says 30 when I check online. Grrr! Hate this crowd but don't want to jump ship until I've been paid for all the agro...
