Well phone has just been answered and guess what- the switching team stop at 8pm so they were unable to do the switch.
The soonest they can call me back is MONDAY the 9th at 7.30pm!!!
Complained about the appalling service but no good will gesture forthcoming. As soon as the switch goes through I'm dumping this lot.0 -
I'd have them back for 6%:).0

Well the saga continues. Got the call back on Monday at 7.45pm to sort out the switch. Turns out they still have to send yet more switching paperwork for me to read but not sign! !!!!!!?? They will call me back again in another week to "confirm the switch start date and sort out the DD ect which will be no less than 7 days from next week". Paper work came today with nothing I didn't know about switching blah blah...
So here I am over a month from applying and still no further forward. What convoluted nonsense, and the girl on the phone making out she was doing me a favour! 6% is not worth the agro. I'm still dumping this lot if bonus is paid or not.LOL0 -
Maybe that's why they allow 6 months for you to switch accounts. : )
I applied recently so hopefully it goes better.
Applied for an M&S credit card recently, still no decision from them. Never found any previous bank to be so slow to give a decision, others have always been instant.
Doesn't inspire me with confidence for taking a current account with them.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

I'm happy with M&S. My experience is that M&S Bank, Current Account and Savings etc. (call centre in England) are very good. Credit Card (call centre in The Philippines) not so good.
As a regular M&S shopper the points are very welcome.

Phoned m&s to activate my card this evening and they answered within a minute so that's very good and it was a UK call centre, unlike HSBC (who I rang a short while before).0

I have to say the application has been painfully slow. Over two weeks before anything arrived in the post and the account is not open yet!0
