Ha ha, I too am sick of seeing people hyping about this. Some are educated friends too, it really is a worry that people can be brainwashed so easily. Maybe we should all start hyping about something that is not sold that makes you feel better, for example raking regular walks....obviously no holiday, posh car or mansion attached but people may feel better???

    Hi everyone,

It's only natural that human beings are suspicious of what they do not know. I am a Forever Living Distributor and I was too. But if you do your research, you'll find that Forever is a legitimate company and Network Marketing or Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) has been around a long time.

There are skills to be learnt in order to be successful, so it's not a get rich quick scheme. The rewards are directly proportionate to the effort one puts into the business. A pyramid scheme is one in which there are no products and money is paid to the person that sponsors you. A proper MLM has money paid to the company and there are products given in exchange for money.

As for the short comings of some distributors, well, people are flawed. Some do as they are trained whilst others don't. That is typical of any business or work place and not unique to Forever. All ingredients of all products are in the public domain. Compared to normal high street prices, the products cost more but they are good value for money. As for the claims of cure, Forever are emphatic to say, their products ARE NOT A CURE. But when taken, many people report changes in their conditions and find their symptoms very much reduced. Obviously, speak to your doctor and use common sense before taking the products.

As for those who don't like the company, products, the network marketing business model. That's ok. The business model is not for everyone. Just like the 9-5 grind isn't for everyone. Network Marketing businesses, Forever and all the others, are for people who have racked their brain and thought "surely, there's got to be more to life than this?" because they have the potential to make ANYONE realise financial freedom in a way traditional careers don't. But don't be mistaken, there's lots of work involved but BOY, IS IT WORTH IT!!!

That line is one I have heard over and over and over...

One friend 'sacked her boss' for financial freedom and the dream with forever living. 6 months later cap in hand she went back to said bass, who told her to run and jump. Now she works as a Barrisata at a local coffee shop.

As soon as she sacked her boss, she

    - Lost her 3 months full, 3 months half sick pay
    - 12% contributory pension
    - company car
    - 31 days holiday (paid) a year
    - guaranteed monthly income
    - employee discounts

All because she was sold an unrealistic dream, it preys on the vulnerable who are easily swayed, with promises of the ultimate life.

Yes, some do succeed, but for every success, there is a torrent of disappointed dreamers..

I do know, all to well, which is why I can give an accurate account of this "company".

The products are there to get around the illegalities of a pyramid scheme. Skills are to be paid for. Don't kid yourself into thinking you get anything for free. Materials, seminars and all training is charged

I'm in a good career and have a very wide ranged skill set. I could sell these products into many local shops and gyms. This company however will not allow it. Do I need to refer you to the exact section of the policy that says this? Check 16.6 of the company policy ;) (and that's just one section, there are a few that show the restrictions that in the end, leave you with only 1 choice - selling directly to family and friends. This makes the 'recruitment' of people more profitable for all, the basis of all pyramid schemes)

Really? How do you work that out? I can get pure aloe for almost 40% less (more if I buy in bulk) The reason for the huge markup isn't for the quality. It's so that diamond & Sapphire managers can be given bonuses, and the owners can freely purchase property around the globe. They are over-priced. Very much so

Quit with the reverse psychology. There's nothing wrong with the model. It's the way the model is implemented. If you were allowed to be boundless and utilize entrepreneurial skills to sell these, then there would be no problems. Sure it would still not be for everyone, but it would be a hell of a lot more ethical. But this company (like all "Network Marketing Companies") do not want you selling the products. They want you selling the dream. I'll give Forever Living their due, they have certainly spent a great level of detail and time on the "product" (which is there to get around the illegal pyramid scheme) and have done it very well. As for 9-5, I do not work 9 - 5. I select when I work, and I am very happy. I've worked the 9-5, I've worked 9-5 at the bottom, I've done Forever Living but right now I'm very happy.

To others, do not be deluded into thinking that Network Marketing scams are the only way to secure a good living, or freedom of working hours. A Network Marketing Company will either take your money, dignity, self-respect, friends and family, or a combination of all of them.

My missus did this, still is technically but does nothing with it now aside from buying the odd product.

It cost her £200 which we scraped together to pay she held a couple of parties, one to family and one to friends and sold about £600 worth of product but didn't get anyone interested in joining as a distributor.

She's tried to get people to join but no luck and that's where the real money is made by recruiting to your downline.

The person who introduced her is doing OK, Assustant Manager and the people (sister in law/brother in law) who introduced her is flying both she and her hubby gave up their jobs, now have a Range Rover Sport, have trips to conventions all expenses paid and last year had a bonus cheque for £32k.

It can be done but my advice would be to stay away as it is made out to be easy but it is anything but.

I'd say we have just about broken even

I'm starting to hate this company, probably because a few friends have signed up. They never stop harping on about how it's good for everything. Then whenever you see them or they know you've been ill, they're trying to flog you stuff. I tried some of it once, good for nothing.

Years ago I sold Avon and every time I went past this lady's house who was an FLP distributor she'd ensnare me outside her house for at least 30 minutes talking about how this would not only cure me, but my pets too! !!!!!!.

There are quite a few mentions on the various coeliac groups too of being approached by distributors on the basis that these products can cure us. Most of us tell them exactly where to go, and if they were friends just remove them from our Christmas card list and avoid them, however, they have more than confused a few newly diagnosed coeliacs who have risked their health by using these products and giving up their gluten free existence.

They even try to spam the groups sometimes with youtube videos or links proving to us that these products are our lifesavers. A very dangerous practice indeed.

I wonder if FLP sell a product that can also cure delusional distributors.

Really interesting thread - I think the one person praising the scheme to the skies proves my description of it as cultish.
Pretty much as I thought and now feeling doubly awful about my friend as she is chasing me up to host a party for her which I really do not want to do now, given that others have confirmed my suspicions.
Oh h e double hockey sticks.
