Octavia vs Qashqai?

So we require the extra room (especially extra boot space) and thinking of these 2 cars.

We mainly do city driving, around 9-10k miles a year and require the car to be a petrol automatic.

We either will be leasing the car or getting it via PCP (first timers) as we plan to change the car after 3 years.

Have any of you any experience with leasing and PCP?
If so, what would you advise us to get the best deal?

Do any of you also have any experience with the petrol automatic Skoda Octavia or Nissan Qashqai?

Thanks

No experience with either vehicle. My only comment is that they are (at face value) very different types of vehicle, so why those two?

Isnt the Qashqai only available with the 1.2 turbo petrol engine? I dont think they have any other petrol models now? But no power at low revs and overtaking is fun because you need to keep that turbo on boost otherwise you may wish you took a horse and cart instead.

At least with the Ocatavia you have the 1.8 petrol option.

As your not looking to buy then its OK. I wouldnt want to buy either of them.

The best deal will depend on the final price at the end of the day. If your list is those 2 cars and specific choices like petrol and auto then i dont expect a great deal.

Plus the boot in the Qashqai is loads smaller than the Octavia. Go sensible and get a Focus instead?

Is the focus suitable for a family of 4 (2 toddlers with big car seats)?
Wife has an auto only license hence the auto car and was looking at the small engines for good fuel economy...

I can't see how, Like the other poster I wouldn't have either car. It's ok having space, but 1.2 litre low torque power isn't really keeping your family safe when the vehicle is loaded up.
What's up with a mondeo or equivalent?

The Qashqai now has a 1.6l petrol engine in the range.

How about a Skoda Yeti auto?

I had one for a month and, overall, I was impressed. Very versatile.

Well my sister had 3 kids and a Focus estate. She managed OK.

Small engine does not automatically mean better fuel economy. I have a 2L mondeo. On a motorway run my car gets better fuel consumption that my sisters 1600cc car.

Mines barely ticking over and at motorway speeds its right in its peak efficiency band. Her car is above the peak band so less efficient.

If we spent all day stuck in stop start traffic then yes hers would be better.
