Parking fine at doctors surgery

Good morning

Could someone please offer a little advise? My wife has received a parking fine from private eye for £100.

My wife last week had to take my 3 year son to the doctors after a phone consultation they incised in seeing him, she was in the doctors for 1:42 minutes mainly because my son had to pass water before they would let him leave. She was on her own I was at work so there was no one to move the car and at the time her main concern was my son.

The doctors are willing to provide dates and times that they see my son if parking eye require this information.

Within the car park is a supermarket and a doctors surgery, she was parked directly outside the doctors surgery. The over stay was for 14 minutes.

Do you think it would be possible to appeal this fine?

Thank you in advance for your replies.

There is no fine. Just an invoice. Read the NEWBIES thread which will help you understand.

You will not need to pay.

Getting in and out of any Doctors in an hour and half would be a feat.

That is why I love my Doctor.

Never been longer than thirty minutes.

And I can get an appointment easily!

Especially since you have to arrive early "just in case", yet appointments usually overrun so you'll likely be seen late.

I tried to get a doctors appointment last week for anytime this week, nothing except emergency appointments if you ring "on the day"

however, these "emergency appointments" are where you are given a time which you must not be late for, then I was told I would be "seen" within 1.5 to 2 hours of that time , so it could be 2 minutes or 2 hours

so totally agree that these parking time stays are ridiculous, PLUS the surgeries make a rod for their own backs due to a lack of resources as can be seen from my saga (not enough doctors ? despite having expanded the surgery into the old car park, reducing the car park to a small patch of land)

In the good old days before GP surgeries had appointments you just arrived & were seen in turn just like in A&E. As long as you were in before the door was locked you were guaranteed to be seen. The problem nowadays is that people object to taking a morning off work to see their doctor & demand definite appointment times.

And why should you reveal confidential information to their tinpot parking contractor ? Tell them to get it cancelled
