I'm guessing the exile in their name means they don't live in Newcastle?

You guess correct. He actually lives not a million miles from me (though we've never knowingly met).
  • If the spotted baffffoooon on the checkout charge me for a bag, they can put the job lot back on the shelf!

Ill have to check my receipt from last week as I didn't see any carrier bag charge nor on the website when I checked out. is this new?

Never been charged here - had a shop delivered this morning, and no charge on receipt.

    Perhaps a regional thing?

    Lin :)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

Used Sainsbury's on line service for the first time today for an elderly handicapped neighbour.
She was charged for EIGHT carrier bags at 5p each and yet all her shopping was delivered in just ONE.
Surely this cannot be right that they are charging customers for something they did not receive?
Will not be using Sainsbury's on line again - Tesco delivers in reusable boxes and not sure why Sainsbury's cannot do the same

Hi I'm not sure about Sainsbury's, but I shop online at Tesco and they charge a flat rate of 35p if you choose the carrier bag option which is ok if you have lots of shopping as you pay less for bags, but for say 4 bags you still pay the 35p
Need to get rid of my Yankee Candle Habit, Not very money saving of me :)

Probably. Mind you if they delivered in bags for life and swapped them every time you ordered online then I would have such a bloody shed full of the placcy ones

And some people have good psychic abilities for knowing about posts that appeared before you were even registered on MSE, and why did you not make any mention or query about being referred to as Bod?

You mean it's impossible to read this forum without being registered and logged in? Really? Not the last time I looked. ;)

And why comment on something of nothing? Bod was a cartoon character from the 70s. I've been called worse. :)
