How Long Do Banks Take To Pay Up

I went through the FOS route and was lucky enough to have the offer letter sent just before they put everything on hold. Has anyone any idea how long it takes for the charges to go back into your account once you have sent the acceptance form back.0

Good question!
I rec'd initial offer weeks ago and a couple of weeks after accepting it I got another letter explaining the FSA court situation and 'do I still accept it?' (bit of stalling there!).
Sent acceptance back again on 9th August. Finally got through on the phones to check on situation and was advised yesterday (16th) that it should be 2 or 3 days until the money is paid but could be 2 weeks. Spoke with cheif execs office today who gave me the managers name for the charges office but couldn't get through and assitant told me they had emailed them to ring me! No call recieved!
If the money isn't in my account by Tues I'll probably go overdrawn and get charged!!!!0 -
I sent acceptance to FOS on 30/07/2007 for 2 offers I had from Bank of Scotland. I received one of the payments on 13/08/2007 and have had part of the other claim paid in. Just waiting for the balance. Fos advised up to six weeks, so I suppose I can't complain.0

sorry if this has already been asked but i dont fancy going through hundred of threads to find the right answer. basically claimed £595 off natwest and they offered £559 as settlement which i accepted. heard nothing for 2 weeks then got the letter bout them all going to court and would i still like the settlement or to wait to see if i can claim more. i wernt going to be picky over £39 so said i'd take the settlement. that was 2 weeks ago and i've heard nothing. my account was actually closed a year ago so i was told they would send me a cheque but roughly how long does this take? i was hoping to have the money by next week so i can celebrate my birthday in style! does anyone know? any help would be greatly appreciated x x xClaiming back from Natwest: £595+intrest
Claiming back from Barclays: £525+intrest0 -
I believe they have 6 weeks to pay up but to be sure, why don't you give them a call?Reclaimed thanks to this site:
£175 Abbey Mortgage Repayment Fee, £170.03 Capital One Bank Charges £418.07 Lloyds TSB Bank Charges, £2,671.55 Mis-sold Endowment Policy, all for OH0 -
NatWest have made an offer close to amount claimed, which I have accepted. Now the courts are putting claims on hold because of the pending test case, does this also mean that the banks will postpone paying out accepted offers. If the banks are paying out the amounts offered then how long would I expect to wait before receiving the offer. Any info would be appreciated, thanks in advance. NH.

Check the settlement offer if it does not say anything about when the money will be paid give them about a month then write to them chasing. I suspect they will delay paying as long as they can. Also in some case bankis have said that you need to sign a new agreement first this is not true.As I am not the Pope or legally qualified I may be wrong so feel free to get a second opinion from a qualified person0 -
Thanks for advice, will check paperwork and go from there. Regards.0
