have you tried oats with soya milk?? microwave for about 60 secs...then cool down and add some raisins - lovely!
avoid Alpen musli as it has milk powder. i like the organic range from Julian Graves or the Dorset range.

dont forget the massive range of food you forgot to mention that is all dairy free - fruits and vegetable - so much choice these days.

    Hi atpug,
I assumed that the fruit and veg sections would be known anyway. I was thinking more in terms of other products and treats.

I haven't tried the oats with soya hun - I did readybrek with water and it was like wallpaper paste, or BB8's cans of slop. :D I thought I wouldn't like a soya milk + oat version because I hated the taste of soya milk angel.
Hope you're well atpug. Thanks for the tip.
    Much Love,

Fair enough its not the nicest stuff in the world..but have you tried the new versions such as alpro light? I mean i hate all milk full stop esp drinking it just like that but to eat me cereal i much prefer to use soya than animals milk.

forgot to mention try to avoid using words such as "hate" they just build up any negativeness within and further expand your doubts over anything.

will try her again in a few days. thanks
    Hi Deals,

Do you know which part of milk is causing your daughter to react to it? When my eldest daughter was little she was lactose intolerant and therefore couldn't have normal cows milk. She could just about tolerate Lactolite milk which is apparently 95% lactose free.

I've just been googling for Lactolite and have come across lactofree

    From their website

"LACTOFREE is the UK's first-ever dairy drink with all the great taste of milk but less than 0.05% lactose. We simply take delicious and healthy semi-skimmed cow's milk, gently filter out the lactose and then add a small amount of lactase enzyme. The result is nutritious milk that’s at least 99.95% lactose free."

I wish this had been around when DD1 was little. :) As it's basically just cow's milk with the lactose taken away then all the calcium should still be there.

other shop. could not see the calcium thing you mentioned...thanks
i hated all forms of soya milk when i gave dairy - but then after a few weeks, rice milk seemed fine, then i found soya milk was ok too (although i never drank it on its own!). maybe if she's little she'll 'forget' what proper milk tastes like even sooner! adez have a fruit flavoured soya milk range (i think i got some samples in a shoppig centre a while back) and they tasted great - even my OH liked them. found the website here: http://www.adez.com/uk/ and it looks like it has added calcium too.

If you can get it try her on Ewe's milk, it's very similar to Goat's milk, but doesn't have as stronger flavour

My son and daughter have allergys and you would be surprised at what foods have milk added!!

My youngest ( just 1yr ) has goats milk only as she is alergic to soya and lactose intollerant and my son has only soya as he is lactose intollerant but can't tollerate goats milk. Dinner time and shopping is interesting in my house lol

Sainsburys, tesco etc are all pretty good at stocking the free from ranges and they are getting better all the time.

Goats milk and soya are known to improve eczema - its owrked on my 2 ;)
Wife to a great husband and mum to 4 fantastic kids 9,8,4,3 they drive me mad but I would do anything and give everything for my family :grinheart

WHY WILL YOU NOT CONSULT YOUR GP OR HEALTH VISITOR ABOUT THIS? Excuse me for shouting, but an Internet Forum is NOT the best place for getting advice about something as important as this to your daughter's future health and well-being!

I know that living with eczema is hell, but my DH has just been diagnosed with osteoporosis. I have no idea whether the exclusion diets he was on as a child are partly responsible for this, but I do know that my GP was very supportive when I did not introduce milk or dairy into my children's diets before they were a year old in the hope of avoiding eczema - and he prescribed a calcium supplement for them!

SOME people find that a dairy free diet improves their eczema. Others find it makes not a blind bit of difference. Parents are often so desperate to improve eczema that they'll try ANYTHING, including exclusion diets, to improve it. Eggs and dairy are commonly seen as triggers, but there are other things which CAN cause reaction. However, before excluding things from a child's diet the National Eczema Society recommends getting medical advice.

Nothing! I think that poster was just so amazed to discover an alternative for those with a latex allergy, which is apparently not uncommon.
