Admiral's Insurance feedback

Hire certainly.
Credit repairs when you have Comp cover is less common from my experience.0 -
I've been a previous customer of Admiral Insurance.
I made a claim in January 2011 when I was involved in an accident (wholly my fault.)
It took nine weeks to get it sorted out (and my Boss also had to intervene because at one point I was getting nowhere with them.)
I stayed with them until October 2014 as they were the cheapest. They were good with me when I had to make a windscreen claim in August of last year.
However after finding insurance cheaper elsewhere they refused to price match and I moved on.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

The fact you dont even realise you were dealing with another company nor the fact you were entering into a credit agreement with Albany I would argue is worrying (arguably from more than one perspective)
I was aware that it was Albany but I was giving my feedback on Admiral & as they are who I paid and the ones who instructed Albany, then I give credit to them for how everything was dealt with. They actually explained everything very well & I was fully aware of the agreement with the car.
Thanks0 -

So your complaint about your other insurers is that they didn't sell your details to a credit hire company to get you a like for like hire and a £150 cheque for them?0 -

In my experience, I've only had an accident while insured with Admiral, and the whole process, the handover to Albany and Albany's management of the incident were seamless.
That would be all I have to recommend Admiral by, and so I would recommend them on the basis that they work well and use (what for me) were a competent and helpful claim management company.
I don't care whether they got paid for it or not, to me as an end user I had no complaints and only praise about how my situation was handled.0 -

In principle I have little issue with them handing over to claims management companies as long as they explain what they are doing and you ultimately have a choice.
If they are doing it then they certainly should be paid for it as that can then be reflected in my premiums.
My issues were with the others posters comments that initially that "admiral" gave them a like for like car which is incorrect. Secondly a complaint that the other insurer didnt do the same.
Look on this forum and you will find many complaints about people who have "unknowingly" been given a credit hire vehicle and now are having problems and being forced to provide bank statements etc0 -

Wasn't in any way complaining about the other company, just pointing out a difference in the way 2 insurance companies handled my claim. If the 2nd insurance company had offered the same then I would have taken up the offer.
As far as I'm concerned I was happy with Admiral insurance, which is what this thread is about.0 -

You could have actually sold yourself to the credit hire company and got a referral fee, certainly some of them pay anyone who does a referral even for themselves.
Why not just phone Albany if you were impressed with their credit hire assistance?
The difference is that Admiral dont provide courtesy cars so if there'd be split liability or untraced TP Albany wouldnt have been willing to assist where as your other policy would still have provided a small replacement vehicle.
If a like for like replacement is important to you several insurers do offer such cover as a standard part of their policy and thus is not dependent on the claim being non-fault with an identified and insured TP nor the issues that credit hire can cause0 -

If the credit hire co are MOJ regulated (which most of them are) this would be forbidden as any inducements to make a claim are forbidden.0 -

And as we are all aware there are ways around regulations otherwise I wouldnt be getting 3 calls a day about "my injury from the accident"0
