I do, but I demonstrated it like that to show that all the rubbish has been removed

I've seen various people on here suggest alternative models to the current model, such as barriers, deposits etc, but all of these come with overheads, so the car park owners will need to make their money back somewhere. If they can no longer do this through penalties, they will do it through increased costs for parking. That's just common sense.

These "alternative models" that seem so novel to you already exist. The question then is why they are not used. The answer is because, these alternative models don't make money for dodgy PPCs.

In my case PPC took down a sign at the entrance and hid another sign behind a tree and sued me. If you want to defend that then you need to readjust your moral compass.

Most of it, yes. If I want to see what MoneySupermarket are selling then i will look at the home page, but I don't want to see the picture of "We Run the forum", ML in a goofy hat, the Fighting your corner sign or the "Tix and "Vch"'s either.

If I want a deal, I go to HUKD. I am on a forum and adverts do my head in which is why I use and highly recommend ABP, the internet is a different place with it!

gosh , but don,t forget the long standing statement "without the help of adverts we would not be able to keep this forum going"

hear it all the time on motor forums with ebay ads etc at the top , a laugh when you see they are on free (or minimal cost) web hosts and the pocket the ad moneys

I for one hope that the court of appeal doesn't rule in the publics favour, I hope this jusgement sets a precedent that all parking charge notices are fair and legal.

I mean seriously, how hard is it to return to your car within an hour, 2 hours, a day etc etc what the hell is wrong with people?

Oh i've taken advantage of this bit of land, im going to throw a strop when I get a charge for doing so.

You may have a point, but what about those who park in their own demised land and get harassed by PPCs?

Perhaps the question should be what right do liars, convicted criminals and chancers have to charge me if I should inadvertently overstay when they have suffered no loss ?

Even the smaller picture isn't great.

So penalty charges become legal - I actually don't have a problem with that, as such. The question is what amount of penalty charge is legal?

£15? £25? I can certainly see that being reasonable and depending on the circumstances, fair.

But £85? £100? And without a GPEOL requirement, what then?

This is an issue of principle - it's not about a person's failure to tell the time.
