question about all in one PC

They are classed as a pc when you take paid surveys online aren't they?

For example if I try and do a survey on tablet or smartphone it says survey not suitable for this please use a pc.

Even though they are an all in one device they are still classed as a pc aren't they?

Just checking?

Thanks.

Are they easy to connect to the internet too?

Yes they are classed as a PC, unlike smartphones, tablets and laptops/notebooks you would not be able to carry it around with you :0)

a laptop would also be classed as a PC.
it most likely doesn't work on smartphones/tablets because its not compatible with their browser.

You need to have a home phone line dont you to connect to the net for a pc. I have got that but if i were to get shot of my landline and just use mobile, that would render the pc useless wouldnt it?

You could tether your mobile to the PC.....depending on your usage, whether you would be satisfied with the service or not.......Otherwise, yes, you need your land line, unless you have Virgin Media access, then you could have BB without a line, but, you wouldn't save anything.

Someone ought to come up with a way to have a pc online if you havent got a landline. Landlines are going out of fadhion now yet all internet packages involve having a landline and making calls?

Good grief! How times have changed! It doesn't seem long ago that hardly any computers were connected to the Internet. And here I am reading that a modern PC would be "useless" without Internet-access!

Maybe it's finally time to get rid of my 286 portable with 512K RAM and cavernous 20MB hard drive... Or should I upgrade it with a 2.4kb/s modem...?

With a bit of fiddling about on the tablet you can run those surveys which may require something like flash to be installed. Flash apps may not be supported on your device but you can download apps which allow flash to be run remotely and you see the output displayed on your tablet. You can also make your browser appear to be a desktop browser. It's a bit hard to explain in a few minutes but it can be done.

You can also play about with the software on your PC and run websites designed for mobiles and tablets.

  • buy a wireless dongle and use next doors internet.

I was running a fonera (that was set up in a different location) for 6 mths last year , this gave access to the internet via BT (wireless)
