it was still an ASSUMPTION the OP was using GSP as they NEVER actually mentioned it

Yes it was an assumption... turned out to be a good one though, didn't it?

Your assumption however, that the OP was wrong when he said:

I have paid via Paypal, the original item costing just under £75 and the import and customs charges at £27.30.
    ...and you corrected him:

i removed the Import and Custom Charges as when you purchase from outside the UK these are not included in the price you pay.

These will be added as they enter the UK...
...was not only wrong but tantamount to calling the OP a liar.

They also seem to have had a lot of different jobs they claim knowledge about.
Where is the law to say someone cannot have a variety of jobs? or is the yet another MSE law

left school went into photo journalism with a Trinity Mirror Group newspaper, 3 years into job was involved in vehicle crash which busted my knee.

with insurance money etc. i bought a local ink cartridge/computer retailer and in 1999 i started offer webhosting.

In 2009 i sold the retail business for a good profit, but kept hold of the webhosting business
In 2010 i started selling toys at country fairs/summer fairs ( mostly weekends)
still sell toys ( but have staff that do the shows) and i still do the webhosting

    so not that many jobs

In your retail and IT business, you've not by any chance run into someone who used to post on here under the ID of earthstorm have you?
They had a remarkably similar career path to yours, also having had an accident that caused a knee injury following which they went into retail and IT. (I know that IT covers a lot, but you both specialised in webhosting)

If not, you might have met them at a county fair where by another amazing coincidence, they also talked about selling toys at fairs.

    Small world isn't it?
I have seen someone else make the same connection, though not sure who the "other" user is.

It's been more than one other, I've seen 3 or 4 different posters with similar views.
To the best of my knowledge the "is it? isn't it?" debate has been on going since the 27th December 2014.

Thank you all again for taking the time to bash this about. I am very happy to report that the item arrived today, without any further charges.
I think my friend fell under the category some of you mentioned that had not paid anything upfront, whereas I luckily chose a vendor who took care of this.

(Thanks also for your patience, this was my first post and query and I know my original lack of information frustrated some of you more experienced users, but it's great to know there are people in the MSE community who gave me the time of day with my concern.) :)
