No that's a assumption on your part or are you always correct

The assumption I have made is that the OP is telling us the truth.

Of course there may well be other ways of pre-paying 'import and customs charges'.

It really doesn't matter how he made that payment, the point is that as he has already paid, there is nothing further to pay.

but we don't know that as all the OP is worried as her friend got charged by courier.

The info i gave is 100% correct in how the system works regarding import duty

Actually the first post clearly says
I have paid via Paypal, the original item costing just under £75 and the import and customs charges at £27.30.

So although we are all guessing I stick by my guess that they have bought via GPS and will not therefore be asked for further money upfront.

I very much doubt the OP will be back though, we are getting a lot of 'hit and run' new posters

these are only assumption, not true facts. it seems strange certain MSE user can make assumption and consider it correct and not an assumption and yet when other make assumptions they are wrong.

so i guess MSE is not a free public forum if you don't think the way MSE do then you are wrong

So what your saying is the op may be lying and we are best not to take what they say at face value?

It does seem if someone contradicts what ever you say you have to twists other peoples words to justify what you wrote initially even though its been pointed out at best thats its not completely right.

No point to me in the OP post where that say they are using GPS.. other's are only ASSUMING that's what they used.

but it seems i cannot assume they are not as its not the MSE way

So you assume because GPS is not specifically mentioned that its ok to give information that is only partially correct at best.[when using ebay, import duties ect are not a given these days because of GPS]

But when reading the specific line
I have paid via Paypal, the original item costing just under £75 and the import and customs charges at £27.30. its not ok to assume the OP is actually telling the truth and has used GPS.

It does seem everyones allowed to assume as long as they assume along the same lines as you :p

I see no point in continuing posting here where a certain user has to believe the OP is lying for some obscure reason.

It is also unlikely that the OP will return anyway.

Is it fair to assume (that word again) that all references in this thread to GPS should be read as GSP? ;)

The GSP has a very accurate delivery using GPS, it's its USP:D
