Beware of changegroup, you may lose all your money!

Beware of the company 'Changegroup' they offer the best rates for delivery on Euros, even 'Free Supersaver' postage.

If you do not pay the optional £7.99 insurance you may lose ALL your money!

We recently used them having saved up £500 for our trip to France later this year. On purchasing the currency you are entitled to 'Free Supersaver' delivery (over £500) and are asked whether you would like to purchase the optional insurance at £7.99 (which would make them no cheaper than their rivals). Should you not do this be warned they only post your money by 1st class signed for!!!! with no tracking whatsoever!!!!!

We have lost £500 and now have to save all over again, please do not fall victim to this.

We feel that this should not be an option and tracked postage should be utilised by them as a matter of course. I have emailed them on a few occasions but they have now stopped answering. I have even suggested they remove the option for insurance to prevent other people from losing all their money but they have not replied.

Please, please, please buy the insurance if you want to use these people.:mad:

Insurance is there for the seller rather than the buyer as the seller takes the risk of a lost delivery.

I think they should carry the can for this one.

You had a contract with them to deliver you the funds. They did not deliver (assuming from this post).

Folks, thanks for your input.

We paid by debit card so don't know if we're going to be able to recoup our money yet.

It's interesting you say it is the sellers responsibility to ensure delivery of goods as if this were ebay and PayPal I wouldn't be worried.

I'll update the thread if we get anywhere but I'm not hopeful at the moment, we just don't want these people to do this to anyone else.

Thanks for the warning. I will avoid. Surely they should use special delivery as standard.

You can use charge back if you used a debit card. Also get one of the finance people on board like Money Mail or equiv to fight with you in your corner as its more involved than section 75 with a credit card. Don't let them get away with it. Goood Luck

I think the money maximiser should remove them from the search options if they not guaranteeing delivery.

Imagine if they have a "They didn't click the insurance box" don't bother posting mentality.

OP I hope you get this sorted, but for the future and for anyone else contemplating this...why??? Sending cash in the post is out of the ark. It's got its obvious risks, and it's far better value as well as safer to get a fee free card and get cash out locally.

Thanks for your suppprt Kernow, but surely the point of this website is to 'save money'? And as for little known they come out top of the list when searched through this very site. Berk

All the other advice has been gratefully received and we will take it on board. I won't be giving up until every option is exhausted.

We bought currency and were promised 'delivery' not sticking in the post and hoping!
