So people own Apple products think they're awesome, and you're trying to tell them Apple products aren't awesome, even though you don't own any?

If the people that own Apple products think they're 'super duper', then they're 'super duper'.

Do you realise how stupid that makes you sound?

So in your eyes is windows and android super duper?

And taking into account that the damaged one might be sellable for spares or repair, I also think it's a no brainer as which option to go for.

also a refurb is on 3 months warranty and you never know if it will have other faults not picked up by Apple. which a new one will have full 12 months warranty and an upto date model

So basically apple are not really offering a repair option. They are pretty much forcing peoples hands to buy in new device, which isn't a great option considering they are expensive in the first place.
  • Mind you you'd think that a company so obsessed with design that they would put screens on their devices that was more durable.

I wouldn't be suprised if before long that home insurances upped their premiums for people who had apple products because their screens break so frequently.

Not really as if you had an iPad Air it would still £156 compared to £319 new, so in that instance the repair/refurb is best option, but for iPad mini its better to pay extra and get new

    You miss the point.

If everyone who owned an Android phone thought it was super duper, then Android phones are super duper. Get it?

But people that own Android phones think they're a bit rubbish. Same goes for Windows.

I'm sorry you can't afford an Iphone :(

yes due to misuse, so how it that's Apples fault look on ebay and you will see just as many Samsung's and Motorola's being sold with cracked screens.

I have had Apple products for years and never had a single cracked screen
  • The reason I asked about fixing in the first place was because this was a gift from my boyfriend and I don't want to tell him it's broke!
Gulp! If I was in a similar position I'd be more inclined to put my money towards relationship counselling than towards getting my tablet repaired.
