Taking a CC with them should not cause a transfer of the debt to the new account but I certainly would not risk opening a current or savings account with them ;)

Never associate with idiots on their own level, because, being an intelligent man, you'll try to deal with them on their level - and on their level they'll beat you every time.

Being hated by idiots is the price you pay for not being one of them.

Because they will take vast amounts of money from it if you don't pay the credit card.

Yeah mole :D been there done that ;)

    I grew up eventually :T

Found a grey hair the other day messing up my brunette locks  not even funny :(

I had CC debt issues with Capital One and MBNA. I refused to talk to them and waited for them to sell the debts on.

After everything dropped off my credit file both of them sent me CC application forms with silly high interest rates, And stating they know its hard to improve your credit rating.

Err no my credit rating is fine thank you.

So it seems some companies will give you a second chance.

  • I wouldn't worry too much about anything Voltaire7 says. They only joined this month and looking through their posts they seem to enjoy attempting to rile people, which isn't the point of the forums and really necessary as people come on here looking for advice or help. Nobody here has any right to judge anyone else. Verging on trolling I feel and certainly not a nice experience for Newbies.

It's good to see you getting back on track. I definitely wouldn't keep my savings with any bank I have a debt with. As you know too well, you never know what the future holds.

Good luck and keep up the positive work.

    Thanks SolentSusie

I have always lurked on here but thought I would ask the question as Martin always is so knowledgeable when on TV:money:
I'm glad I joined the site and posted on here.
My question has been answered and I once again Thank you all for taking the time to post.

When I was considerably younger I got into a financial mess with Capital One and BarclayCard (amongst others.)

I entered into a DMP (with a monthly fee, if only I'd have done some growing up and sorted myself out without the help of a third party!)

Although the debts were finally settled in my case they've both accepted me as a customer again in the years since.

And SolentSusie is right in suggesting not to have savings and debts with the same bank.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.
