UPDATE:
i was found fully at fault on the basis that i got out my car and spoke to mr x and mr x said i never spoke to him.Mr x claimed to be travelling at 10mph which is a lie as the damage to his vehicle would not be possible at that speed his account of what happened had no detail in it and was very basic the time was out by 2 hours of when the rta happened his lawyer even said to my lawyer that he would be shocked if they win as our case was strong welcome to the justice system0 -

Unlucky, the moral of your story is next time you find yourself in court make sure your witnesses can attend.0 -

Thanks for taking the time to post an update, sorry it didn't go your way.0 -
You never know what's going to happen at trial. Unlucky it went that way. Should have been a split of liability. Maybe you didn't come across as convincingly as the other party. The Judge has to decide which version of events to prefer. If you didn't have any witnesses to back up your version of events and come across poorly, it would have made it easier for the other judge to prefer the other parties evidence.0

With drunken witness who wouldn't attend and the other party finding an independent it was always going to pan out that way.0

Bite the bullet on this one mate and buy a dashcam.just because you are paranoid doesnt mean to say they are not out to get you0
-
dashcam already ordered i dont see how a judge would make a decision on the basis if i spoke to mr x or not my lawyer was speechless and his lawyer could not believe the fact they won due to the fact that mr x was very vague on what happened the night but hey it happens you never know0

i would have been happy with a split liability but not 100% my fault what am really not happy about is he took a oath and lied about what speed he was doing and what happened0

These things happen I'm afraid. This is why we round up as many witnesses as possible. I don't see why your friends couldn't stand up for you even if they had been drinking, they still have been effective and credible witnesses. Why did you not get the details of drivers behind you who would have seen the entire thing?0
