So, I should hear by 11th June... fingers crossed!
Thank you Levi, even if it comes to nothing it was worth a try!
I remember it clearly - I had a 0% overdraft which was supposed to be available for 2 years after graduating from uni. Within a month of leaving uni and securing a good job, Lloyds recalled my overdraft, then proceeded to tell me I'd HAVE to take a loan out with them to repay it. I can still remember the woman and the room she took me into, telling me if I didn't take PPI out they wouldn't give me the loan so I would have to pay the £2k back some other way.:mad::mad::mad: Thus started the debt spiral...
Come to think of it, how they ever gave me a loan when I hadn't actually started that job yet, I don't know!
Sounds like what used to happen, I'm far happier now morally now making customers better off not for any sales targets...

hi kiddies,
had a text from PPI yesterday saying my letter has gone out :j
can't wait to see what it might be
sorry for being awol.. it has been busy, but also i'm mourning some anniversaries which always got me.. i dunno.. introspective. sitting and listening to old songs and going through memories is melancholic but it's the first year without her..so.. well.. i expect it won't continue forever. Lifehouse were 'our band' so dragging out the playlist on iTunes has been bittersweet. Sorry this isn't making much sense but i'm being vague so I don't get all choked up:A
today me, LL and O going out to the park to burn off energy and then we're going to TOBY carvery for a late afternoon dinner, we got a voucher from Aunty J- which makes our meals free ..yum, can't wait.:o (not O, as much as he would like to .. maybe we'll sneak him back something)
money is frightful... £4 left of my £6k overdraft.. have only been buying essentials but also had to get a haircut in the week.. money can't come soon enough this month and then i can get this stupid situation back on track, pay the landlord his dues, pay my other stuff the minimums or contractual.. and then get moving back on up again with progress from May. i think i get tax credits and stuff in on the 24th and then payday on the 28th, its gonna be another tight month though and i am still sick of it:mad:
luca is obsessed with orca whales now, not sure if i mentioned. his florida grandparents will be taking him to Seaworld during the summer but I am very anti-captivity so not sure how much i agree with it..(not looking to make waves and will keep views to myself on that.. he has been to Seaworld with them before).. in the meantime i plan to sponsor him a whale for £4 a month from an organisation which uses the money to campaign against whales in captivity and other environmental factors and protecting them from capture until such time it is finally illegal. he will enjoy having his own "whale" (lol hope he doesnt' ask if it can sleep in his bed:D) and it will also stimulate his interest as they send child friendly magazines and educational stuff - geared the right way toward their natural habitat and not enclosure (which only really means -- screw the whales- make BIG BUCKS FOR SEAWORLD)$$$$$$ - Tilikum the biggest whale in captivity...and his son Makaio are currently LL's "favourite celebrities" and they are both in Orlando so it will be exciting for him to see them but yeh my mixed feelings remain on that.. I will try and get LL less interested in wanting to be a trainer and more interested in preserving wild marine life if he really does want a career in this.. but he is only 4 so it its likely to change another 17,000 times before then
have a great weekend!:heart2: Levi xxxxxx- on a mission to be debt-free by the end of 2017 -

hey :hello: nice to see you!
I agree with you about whales/dolphins etc in captivity, but totally understand about not wanting to make waves. It'll be a wonderful trip for LL.
Introspective time is necessary sometimes; it honours your memories - they were important times so it seems only right that you give them the respect they deserve (if that makes sense..). Hugs.
The honeymoon period for your DF journey is over, so it's only realistic to expect that the everyday grind of keeping a tight rein on your cash is wearing you down. I know it does me too. Every time I think I make progress, something happens to scupper it, or at least delay the impact. It's frustrating. But then I look at my spreadsheet, with all my totals on it, and I realise that actually, I have done better than I thought. Do you have your totals written down somewhere? Give yourself credit (pun intended!) for what you achieved so farit's like that old cliche, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. And you *are* doing this DF journey, even though it seems slow and full of dead ends. Fingers crossed for a PPI bonus! xx

Hey you
Nice to see you back. I too am very anti-captivity and frankly I struggle with zoo's and things in this country too. The ones near to me are owned by the Aspinall Trust and they release their captive bred Gorillas back into the wild to up the population. So whilst it is sad to see them caged, I also know they are doing their best to decrease the numbers at the zoo and boost the wild population. They have some amazing set-ups for them. But Seaworld is just barbaric.
Good for you for not making waves though. I try not to make waves with mine either. They have the combined IQ of an egg and are far too selfish so only do things regarding Jelly that suit themselves. Which includes smoking in the house with her even when asked not to expressly. So the answer is they get her to stay one night a year.
As for the memories.. I am drowning a bit in my own right now so I feel you. Big hugs and lots of love. be kind to you xxx

Can I join the anti capitivity group too, although i have been to seaward when I was ten, i have my own mind on this now, i have my own thoughts and decisions....

Hi Levi
It is nice to hear from you, I have been wondering how you have been, LL and O also.
stepuptothepl8 lovely post, your empathy and words of support helps us all.
WestieI hope that you are feeling a lot better xx
I know how you feel with the lack of speed with debt repayment and feel frustrated often myself. I have joined ww (slimming club) and have lost a stone in 5 weeks I am using this new determination and focus as a challenge as I set a two stone loss before my holiday in June, and have decided to do the same with extra debt payments. I feel like its a way to focus in short bursts which I can sustain, then have a week or two 'off' no pressure to make extra payments to recharge then give it my all for another couple of months. Sorry if I haven't explained it very well, I hope you get the jist so to speak.
Anyway enough of my ramblings :hello: to everyone following.

'ello,, just a quick update.. having a bad case of the 'sunday night blahs'!!
not looking forward to the work week revving up again.
but anyways. weekend was enjoyable. delicious meal at the Toby with plenty of food in our tums! and yep we managed to sneak away some edges of turkey for Ozzy and a couple of bits of other meat - he was very gratefuland on the way back from there we popped into a couple of charity shops and LL found a soft toy orca whale for 50p! which he had in his own pocket money from Manchester.. so was over the moon and has been making it perform shows ever since. :P
today I just mainly did chores but it was enough to tire out LL who fell asleep for the whole afternoon.. IN MY BED.. but is in his own for the nightand it hasn't seem to affect him falling asleep at bedtime so all good. He has "banned me" from his room at the moment.. and is spending more time in there doing his own thing which pleases me. He is even getting a bit OCD about his kondo-drawers- like father like son lol.
the whole weekend has been spend free and now it should only be a matter of days before some money goes into my account and so begins another session of payments going out. and this *should* be the week that PPI finally reaches it's conclusion.. I am starting to sound rather repetitive on here now I realise so will wind up and bid you all a fantastic night and a great week, I'll be here cheering you all along and thanks for doing the same for me as ever, really appreciate it:)X- on a mission to be debt-free by the end of 2017 -

Glad you both had a good weekend.
I love the fact that LL's "banned" you from his room as it shows how much he likes it now; well done you! We're staying in a cottage in France for a week, which has a Spiderman rug in one of the bedrooms - with a turquoise background. I think of the two of you every time I go in there!
Hope you have a good week.
