I totally agree with gally and mara - (I haven't checked the link yet gally but I'm assuming you have to kondo the towels!! LOL!!!:rotfl:

It's so true that if you hadn't done anything at all to make progress the landlord bill would still need paying anyways.

Can you manage 50% of it? Or 25%? Offer what you can, and let him/her know when the rest will be possible. Bank of Mum would be brilliant if that's possible, but I know how excruciatingly difficult it is for me to ask Bank of Dad so I do understand on that one.

Main thing is not to risk going over your OD and card limits again. At least from the sound of it this hefty bill is a one-off rather than a recurring dreadathon?

Do you know something that helps me a lot - whenever I've gone through old paperwork it always seems so distant, because new situations have taken the place of the old ones the letters were about. That reminds me now when I get "stuff" that one day it will be "old stuff" if that makes sense.:o

Meanwhile, do you have anything more you can ebay/gumtree/facebook/carboot etc? Even places like cash converters or cash generators can be quite helpful in an emergency, although they don't give you a brilliant price on your items!! (to say the least!) But at least you have the cash straight away.

    Hey Levi

I am sorry to say that I am disappointed with you :o you still have my full support but........how could you forget about the bill that you had already had an extension on the payment? Going against the grain of the softly, softly approach get a grip! You may dislike me for this but the roof over your head is the first bill to pay and any payments associated with that! Sorry to sound hard xx

On a positive note so pleased to hear LL has stayed in his bed and that you have some time to yourself :j

Sorry again, hard week at work :o

Hummingbird I hope that you had a great holiday xx

Unisex my love Unisex, just catching up on your diary after my joint away to the sun - typically it got warmer here as soon as I left but this isn't my diary soo...

I want to say you have lots of supporters here in MSE land just look at all the comments willing you on, I am here to do the same as the saying goes "PUT ONTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULD WANT TO PUT ONTO YOU' or something like that, meaning treat others how you would like to be treated so I would hope if I was in a similar predicament I would want others to support me, so here I am giving you Levi my support...

I would have to echo what others have said about getting more time, and asking for instalments so this shows willing and not just wanting a sabbatical to the debt...

Im sending you good vibes here from South Coast

    Lol Levi

I will never master that in a million years.

MessyBetty we know our Levi would never miss a payment now don't we. It wasn't rent, that much I knew so I PM'd to find out. Levi is not by anyones standards the worst tenant in this place, and much as I see where you are coming from, I went and got the facts behind the scenes before I jumped on the poor fella.

No it ain't a great idea to promise a payment, then forget all about it... but it has A: been a very trying 3 months and B: flown by. Here we are sweeping the lad away on a tide of overpayments to debts and in amongst it he forgot something.

I forgot to give my dad the £40+ cash for stuff he bulk-bought me and brought down this weekend. That makes me feel horrifying all on it's own, as he is a pensioner at the end of the day who has spent a lot to come and see me alone, without the costs. However when I speak to my dad to apologise... he tells me he was trying to sneak it by me without me paying. Regardless I will pay him, the same way levi will pay his landlord, but sometimes a lot of other stuff gets in the way.

Next time, (and there won't be one) I will be jumping on him. But a first missed payment in the whole time I have known you Levi, especially not for what it is for... that isn't worth sweating. As I said, get in touch with your landlord... explain. I know dozens of people with far far worse tenants...

Lots of love to you, and to you too MessyBetty because I know your intentions were good. xxx

I see a lot of bad tennants in the bank and with my work with CAB the difference with you Levi, is you are not shirting around the issue you are trying to find that little gap where you can slot back in and sort the issue out .

You are trying to find a way to complete your obligations which is far more amerceable then others I know off...

lucky, :Awillow,:A fortune, :A apple,:A bizzy, :A edwink, :A gally, :A mara,:A humming, :A lilt, :A meandO,:A greyfox, :A messybetty, :A westie (in no order) what can i say? you guys rock my socks and i can't be more grateful for everything you've all wrote and lifted my spirits (yet again) and as ever- practical advice all taken on board :money:

i'm so knackered as i didn't sleep last night and today had to be on the hoof all day running around london with clients back to back but it is the weekend now.. i'm feeling a bit less  and a bit more .. and things... will be OK.. its a minor setback, its not like a doubled my debt or anything....in a couple of months it will be like it never happened.. hummingbird, the stuff about stuff becoming old quickly.. so true! i felt sick and annoyed at myself but can't carry that feeling on forever, back to just improving it all, and everything carries on.

landlord... far less scary in my imagination than in real life after a quick phone call. happy to wait until my pay day which really just means on the 28th, i pay him and not my credit card (minimum to that instead). i'll just do it, not think about it, carry on. time heals all.

and the news of my PPI claim is still on the horizon and should be with me in the next week or two so may help towards it also.

thanks again.. seriously, i feel so lucky to have you all -including anyone who just reads/lurks or who i missed in the shout out, how rude, sorry.
forgive any tardiness on threads at the mo as loads at home as fallen by the wayside and i'm finding time more of a stretch than ever but it settle back down when i'm not running in slow-mo depressed drama-llama mode! :heart2: x
