Edwinnkkk!:j one of my biggest supporters, sorry not to have mentioned you with thanks :) you are fab. I haven't had time to have a look yet but I will be doing so (you know I'm a slow-mo!):o

    :money:
    - I signed up for a free 2 week trial of custom made dog food from Tails.com - so awesome - you enter all your dogs details - age/breed/exercise level/weight/taste preferences etc.. and they come up with a unique personalised dog food (kibble) to match your dogs profile. I think the 2 week trial thing is running still, and you have no obligation to carry on with it, but even if you do, its VERY reasonably priced and is free delivery. Ours came by courier within a day and so far, our doggy is eating it, but I'm gonna see if he enjoys it enough to continue with. It actually works out almost the same as what I pay for his dog food now and there is no real personalised/quality touch to what he has now. I care a lot about his health and keeping his weight stable. Each batch of this dog food is freshly made and can be adjusted to anything that changes in your dogs life - the website is very user friendly and helpful and so far I don't have a bad word to say about it - so I highly recommend the free trial if anyone is interested!
    - Got a book from WH Smith for my dad's birthday (April) down from £12.99 to £3. Pretty sure he will really like the book. Already have a card for him that I bought months ago too.
    - Only a couple of weeks until I can halve the price of my phone contract, woohoo.

Gradually I'm becoming less scared of my new bank account. Have finally opened all the paperwork, registered for online banking, set up the app, activated my debit card/changed pin- and have moved my tax credits to be paid there. Going to just leave it in there and then use the money for something like xmas shopping or keep as an emergency fund. Somehow I've already fluffed up my online banking and it has locked me out so I have to phone them on Monday to get it re-set. Dunno how I managed that.
    BTW-
Does anyone know how it works when you want to use the Bank Account Switching Service at a later date ( like, when the time is right, I want to move everything to this account - it was offered to me when I first got my bank account - but what happens when I want to go for it at a later date (this is that 7day switch thing where they shut down your old account along with it).. I guess I'd just talk to Barclays at the time and they'd start the switch for me? It wouldn't matter that my bank account wasn't brand new?

Health wise, I'm feel OK. I get my results on Wednesday from ECG/blood tests with the GP who first sent me for the tests.
There is a pretty big drama brewing up at work but it doesn't really involve me other than it relates to a colleague on my team (not gonna lie, its Jerk At Work)...and the likelihood of him having faked cancer for over a year now - :eek:and has used this to obtain an AWFUL lot of paid leave (above and beyond contract level), loads of time off for appointments, been granted extra holiday, and many, many other things with the company supporting him the best we can. It's a rather long story with many factors but HR and our senior managers are currently doing investigations after it became apparent after he was recently sent to occupational health (which he had refused 3 times before) - that he had been using false medical documents, and many other inconsistencies in his 'story' came to the surface. Horrifying. And to be honest this has left me feeling ill. I have also been emotionally manipulated a lot by him - literally telling me he is "dying" on several occasions -all trying to be caring and compassionate to his situation so I just can't get my head round this. We'll see how it unfolds but it's making me feel really weird.

LL is doing OK - Spongebob tomorrow :T

Bedtime for now, will reply to posts tomorrow, be assured I am not ignoring the things said, I'm just naff :o

I had to pipe up here....freecycle is amazing.
I think probably 50% of my flat is furnished by freecycle!
I also pass on anything my daughter has grown out of on there.

Also, if you're out of contact on your mobile in a couple of weeks, I can thoroughly recommend Sainsbob's mobile. It's sim only, so you need a contract, they piggy back onto vodafone so the signal is alright, and they have some great bundles:

I feel sick about JAW. My mum is dealing with cancer right now. How anyone could fake that is completely and utterly beyond me. What a disgusting piece of humanity. I do not wish ill on anyone, but I would say karma is coming to him.. big time.

Excited by the bank account being in use :) well done you! And don't worry I've locked my online banking for YB too after Jelly lost my card so I have no idea what I am doing with it. Thank goodness for YNAB :rotfl:

Keep trucking on kiddo. You're doing really well! :) xx

  • JAW will no doubt get his comeuppance shortly.. Hugs Levi what an awful situation.

As for feeling down.. I think it's only natural to feel that way sometimes. The reality is that it's going to take some time to pay off our debts, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy. You are doing a great job; the progress you've made over the last couple of months has been phenomenal. Go you! Xx

Thanks dudes .. yeh, my sentiments exactly regarding JAW -I'm horrified on behalf of all the people who are suffering from cancer or their loved ones - it is the lowest of the low. The type of cancer he says he has is the type that we lost my beautiful aunty (mums sister) to in 2009 which was absolutely devastating from start to finish, watching all that she went through, witnessing the pain and horrendous treatment and then her leaving 3 teenage children behind. I did have question marks about how his illness and treatment etc, did not seem to be going the same way at all as we had seen with my aunty - but who really want to be the guy who questions a sick person? You can't really believe anyone would stoop so low to do it. We'll see how it all goes but I am afraid there will be some serious emotional fallout for a lot of our other team members who he has emotionally abused with this, if it comes out that the whole thing has been fabricated. :(
    Anyway.

I hope all the mum's on here have had a nice day... you're all superstars. :happylove
I spoke to my mum; she received her flowers which she said were lovely - and another pressie I sent up at the last minute which was a jiffy bag full of her favourite sweets - Creme Eggs, Mr Tom, Caramac.. etc. She liked that too :) I always feel I should have done more but I think she had a nice relaxing day at home - & I don't think anything could ever be enough for the gratitude I feel towards my mum!:happyhear
I'll be going up there to visit around Easter too-by which time my brother's 2nd baby may have arrived so we'll tie it in with meeting him or her :T (Due 27/3) We've switched our plans a little to go to Manchester at Easter, and the May bank holiday at our friends - so looking forward to both.

Lilty, I'm so sorry about your mums battle and I am so sorry that JAW has the audacity to do this, I think of you and your mum and all the others in this situation and how he is just taking the pain and suffering for his own exploitative reasons. It is probably best I don't mention it too much more unless there is a significant update because everytime I do, my blood just starts to boil.

You guys and your kind responses have collectively also helped me understand why I've been feeling a bit low- it is a lot to do with the fact that the catastrophes and worsening has stopped and it's all reached a point of stability/routine with paying back the debt and living the frugal life - but its also totally true that those are ultimately good things and the very things that will see me through to the end of this successfully. You're all amazing in helping me to see that :A

That's about all for now.. we had a nice time seeing the Spongebob preview!
Edwink, I can't wait to update my signature again too :D
    Not too long now :)

  • Glad you've had a good day and it wasn't the hard day you thought it might be. Your gift to your Mum sounds lovely and I'm sure she appreciated it.

Can't even comment on JAW. I'm too :eek::mad:.

Happy Mother's Day to you too Xx

Like everyone's said, sickening to think that anyone would make up such an horrific web of lies, I can't really say anymore, but like Lilty said, Karma comes to us all.
Try not to dwell too much on it Levi, you've all done what you thought was the right thing in supporting him and I'm sure he'll get his comeuppence.

Great book bargain :j and I'm sure your Mum feels thoroughly spoilt and much loved by you all.

Spongebob sounded like fun too, I'm going to take O to see 'Home' next weekend, have you seen the previews for that? It looks like lots of laughs. :)

Routine really can be a drudge can't it. I have always hated routine, I long for excitement and spontaneity and to do something different each day, but unfortunately life isn't like that, especially when little people are on the scene. It can make you feel so down, I know it does me, but like you said, at least there are no dramas or catastrophes to deal with and it is a sign that life is on an upward spiral for you and LL. Basically, all is well. :)

    Be kind to yourself Mr.

:rotfl: - I am being pimped out!! No MeandO, just this once I don't mind. Although for future reference I prefer being in the middle. I get cold ya know.

Oh, and Lilty, are we missing a business opportunity here?^^^^ :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • Hi Levi!

Hope you had a lovely weekend. Glad your DM liked her flowers. I was banned from buying mine flowers (she knows I have no money) I got her some seeds instead. She can grow her own flowers now instead.

Hope your Monday is going nice and smoothly.
