hey everybody,
all is cool, luca's flight took off on time this morning..and he will be landing in 935 miles according to the tracker just now!
it really will help to stay busy so that advice is firmly taken on board. and catching up some things i can't do with a little one in tow.
to be honest i just feel so blessed that it is like this and not the other way around - it could so easily have been me having him for 6 weeks a year and none of the rest.. so if this is how it will be for the rest of his childhood, i just consider myself lucky to have him all of the other time. this time is for him to connect with that side of his family which is as important as my side, learn more about their lives, form bonds and have fun - and i would not be a good dad if i wanted to prevent that or just think of myself being sad the whole time. so its cool.
work was fine - busy but felt quite a long day. i guess i was watching the clock a lot thinking about the flight progress.
i was a bit annoyed because a colleague stamped on my ego a little - he arranged a training on something i am specialist in, and didn't ask me or involve me at any stage of it.. i was like.. feeling..ugh.. massively invalidated.. i drafted a shirty email to him but then deleted it lol.. but the writing was cathartic and at least i didn't have any regrets about sending it for real!
nice boss left for holiday today for 2 weeks, i genuinely almost cried.. lol. but meanwhile i flirted outrageously with the spanish lady that came in to translate for our spanish speaking clients..... i spoke to her in spanish (as i always try to when she passes my desk- my late wife being Brazilian (fluent portugese language) but also with fluent spanish.. and luca speaks a bit of both so i can get by!)... she acts flirtatious back and then i kinda blush loads and feel awkward and not know what else to say...(maybe something crap like a comment about the weather!)but maybe i should step it up a notch and ask her to have lunch.
i am kinda OVER the person i was very much obsessed with in recent months. it was a very unhealthy borderline emotionally abusive relationship and having my CBT has shown me how badly i needed to phase it out, which i have almost done.
off to brighton tomorrow for all day legal training in equalities. should be quite interesting and its a day away from the norm..xx
PS: something funny. i had to buy a can of aerosol sealant stuff from the 99p shop for my car project and they asked me to show ID! lmao.. 18!.. i told the cashier i'm 28.. he was a bit embarrassed but i said no no, you made my day- on a mission to be debt-free by the end of 2017 -

Levi - You sound very chipper, good for you!
Its funny but I went to uni with a girl who wasnt spanish but lived in spain for years and years. Her family were over there, & she went every holiday time back there. Her English speaking personality was very softly spoken, almost a little buttoned up, but as soon as she got chatting to the Spanish community around our uni, she turned into this J-Lo vicacious, sparkling, flirtacious woman, who could do a mean Salsa & had all the guys drooling. Isnt it funny how having a dual language can mean a dual identity. I liked her in both modes out of interest:) Anyway I thought of her when you mentioned your office lady love.
Im so glad you are feeling ok about LLs trip so far, thats good." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Omg do it!!!!! If she's flirting back then it's a good signPlus now that LL is away it is the perfect time, as dating is so much easier if you don't need to arrange babysitters or whatever. And who knows what stage you'll be at by the time little man gets back
