I have done most but not all of my marking but there is plenty there to get me through the next week. Hurrah for the fact I worked all holiday.
Nothing is on the telly. I am rather bored.
My pictures didn't sell on fleabay.:(Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I worked from home today. But I didn't go out and so I crumbled and ordered a takeaway  £12 spent that could have been used in the kitchen fund. lol.
I donated a bag of clothes to charity. So at least my room seems clearer.:DAiming for a minimal spend 20221 -
I have just spent £25 including postage on the most beautiful purple and white flowers to plant in my garden. I should have a stunning garden in the summer which is just as well since I wont be going anywhere. lol.
Hurrah for the weekend. Yay. Am taking tonight off.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -

Hurrah for the weekend, I tidied this morning and then washed clothes which dried on the line. I rested this afternoon and feel chilled.
I was so happy to see that I have been paid early. By cutting back on spending I am trying to put extra in the mortgage fund. Yay. Every little helps. :money:
It's a bit nippy so I have had my heating on for a fair bit today.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
About a year ago, I created this thread when I rejoined MSE. I naively thought I was fairly money savvy as I was successfully paying off my mortgage (£750 a month). However, I was usually close to zero on my current account by the end of the month.
Through the year I learned from other thread members and from my friend's blogs (Frugal Queen, Meanqueen, Skint Dad). During January, I had another epiphany, to reduce almost all unnecessary spending to see what I could achieve. Now I can see how much progress has been made because as a result of February's wages thinking before I spent has permitted me to:
Pay £650 towards my mortgage,
Put £250 in my kitchen fund,
Put £50 in my xmas fund,
Reduced my bills down to £283 a month,
Live off £100 spending/food money
........and made an overpayment of £300 on my mortgage for March. Holy cow.:beer::beer::beer::beer:
Right, no more spending on non-essentials such as meals out and cinema and taxis (unless for medical appointments). I am going to be thrifty from now on.
Many thanks everyone. :money::D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:DAiming for a minimal spend 20221 -
Another Monday over, so far no direct debits have left my account yet. I feel v rich having an extra day in February. Once all the direct debits go out I will be v careful for the rest of the month.
I heard today about one of my dear friends an ex-member of staff who was forced out a few years ago. They lost their house due to redundancy and have to move into a mobile home.
Isn't there a saying along the lines of the fact we are only a few mortgage payments away from homelessness? Scary times.:(
Maybe I need a plan B. If only I could think of one.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -

Hello Mrs Upsidedown Bear, I am pleased with the kitchen savings slowly but surely I am getting there.
Do you have any advice about kitchen shopping?
I was unwell earlier and spent most of my day off in bed. I think I inadvertently ate something with dairy in it and I'm allergic.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220
