Going back to the OP I had an issue with my mid-2011 iMac 21.5" last September.
I turned it on one day and a couple of pink lines appeared on my LCD. After speaking with Apple Support they'd diagnosed a failed display.
I took it to my local authorised reseller who quoted £400 to replace it. So I exercised the SoGA and Apple replaced it free of charge.
As Stuart07970 says check Apple's website to see if your HDD is listed as one of the faulty drives.
Apple devices certainly aren't foolproof. In my time of owning various iDevices I've also been the recipient of a dodgy iPhone 4.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
