And personally I think it should be brought back with a flat fee of £1 per item or for those people that need constant medication etc a fee of something like £25 or £30 a year
The problem with this is that if it's £1 per item and there are characters buying items two or three times this price at a time, resulting in a significant shortfall.0 -

It just boils down to who covers the shortfall?0 -

It's got nothing to do with the price. At checkout you are only allowed to buy 2 packets of paracetamol due to the fact people were buying them to OD on.0 -
they must be getting away with it as often buy 3 packs from poundland!!0

I use four different types of prescription drugs every day but I would welcome a flat fee also.I need to attend the doctors surgery regularly and whilst not saying it applies to every case I am always surprised at the number of people who walk slowly into the doctors (men women and kids) with head bowed yet five minutes after seeing the doctor come (sometimes literally) running out the door with a prescription in hand as if the visit ittself was the cure....0

That rule cannot be enforced. You just go thru the check out again or go to another outlet. If you want Paracetamol you can get as much as you want easy & cheap0 -

I knew people who though working just used to sign the prescription form anyway. I was entitled to free prescriptions at the time and used to get letters asking me to prove it!!!!
I take 5 different meds a day some twice a day. My doctor refuses to give over the counter stuff on prescription. I would be willing to pay £25 a year or even £3 for a prescription, but not per item.0
