  • The difference between buying as a consumer and a business purchaser is your LEGAL RIGHTS - both against Dell and your credit provider (if buying on a credit card).

As a consumer you have rights such as the Distance Selling Regulations (ie to change your mind and return the goods provided you give written notice within 7 working days of receipt) and the Consumer Credit Act 1974 S75 which makes the credit provider equally answerable to you in law.

As a business purchaser you do not get those consumer protections.
  • do you get a qwerty keyboard with this microcomputer processor?
  • Usually theres no need to buy from the business section. Just go to the home section, and enter the code for the machine you want. It will then let you buy the machine from the home section with all your consumer rights in tact!

Everything you say is spot on however I would argue that you are still acting as a consumer/ private individual even if you buy from the business section.

I work in trading standards and that would be my advice to someone based on staute and case law
