Have been a HSBC account holder since the days of the 'Griffin' & hold a couple of different accounts, saw their offer & whilst doing some online banking opted for a Loyalty Cash ISA & transferred £1k from another account, today I recieve a letter welcoming me to Loyalty Cash ISA & they're pleased to confirm that £50.00 has been credited to my account :)

Don't remember seeing anything regarding a £50.00 'gift', anyone had the same?

Well done for your £50. It was probably a gesture for having paid them lots of £50s over the years.

Can you explain, why did you deposit £1,000 into your loyalty ISA if £300 is enough to get the maximum benefit?

Colsten - Just looking to save some money for a rainy day so, will be using this account to transfer any leftovers from the previous months wages, the £1k had been building up for several months & was just sat there.

Lucky you! Like you I don't remember seeing anything about a £50 gift.

I only got upgraded to the Advance on 9th April - while logged into my HSBC internet banking I applied online for their Loyalty Cash ISA on 10th April (transfered the £300 into it from the Advance account) and was accepted. Logged out and back in and the Loyalty ISA was showing in internet banking.

If you have spare cash, you - like the rest of us - could most likely have been making / could be making made a lot more in non-HSBC accounts.

The HSBC Advance "Save Together" offer is great but why waste more than £300 on it?

Lack of knowledge/understanding on most things savings/investments wise on my part. Here to glean information from those persons that 'know & understand'

Apologies if this has already been covered (its a long thread!) but if you'd maxed out your 2014-15 ISA allowance and couldn't add more cash until the new 2015-16 f/y, that means you couldn't join Save Together from its start date on 1 March 2015? Bummer.

It doesn't matter, you can start now. The "Save Together" runs for 12 months from the date you put your £300 (or your first £25) in.
