Excessive idling does more harm than good, camshafts and lifters, turbo seals etc.
30 seconds to a minute to get the oil round.
Most wear is done on a cold engine, the longer you're idling, the longer the engine is running below ideal temperature.
I agree excessive idling isn't good for an engine, but a modern engine with the correct oil, no, oil starvation isn't a particular issue.
I've not seen many engines go on to boost idling either, I'd rather get some oil around first before driving a turbocharged engine out of the two scenarios.0 -
Using mobile phones when driving: the lawWhen you can use a phone in your vehicle
If you’re the driver, you can only use your phone in a vehicle if you:- need to call 999 or 112 in an emergency and it’s unsafe or impractical to stop
- are safely parked

I'm not against prosecuting somebody for doing something dangerous, but if the car was actually parked that to me is simply absurd, the ceaseless march of pettifogging bureaucracy.
I know the old chestnut of "haven't you got criminals to catch" can get officers backs up and is often a fallacy but I think it's warranted in this case.
But bitterness towards the police is fair game?
Your conclusion is based on hearing 1 side of the story, from someone who wasn't there, so try not to get yourself carried away too much!0 -

0w30? No.
Did I mention oil starvation? No.
Why would it boost at idle? It spins, but there's not a great deal of lubrication.
Get oil round first? Yes, as I said 30-60 seconds is adequate.0 -

Parked up, does not include a running engine.0 -
