Thank you for all your kind words I feel so lost my mum was the one I always ran too when things were bad

No it was just her, me and brother my dad was killed in an accident when I was 5.

I'm only 28 turn 29 in a few weeks and now I feel like I'm all alone

Oh hun, have some hugs. So sorry for your loss.

The numbness you're currently feeling is probably working its way into "What the heck happens now?" as you start thinking that you've never had to sort out a death before. Well, that's where my brain went anyway when my mum died, as my dad died when I was 3, so up to me and sister to sort it all out. Hopefully, your mum sorted things out and put together a plan for her funeral, but if not, most funeral directors are amazing at their job and guide you through the process gently.

There are loads of helpful people on this MSE board. They got me through some tough times and helped my brain process the next steps.

I needed to do stuff from this point on as it kept my brain off thinking through my loss. My sister and I gained such strength from each other through it all, so try to lean on your brother if you feel able, and let him lean on you. Cry together, be sad together, enjoy happy memories together through the tears and remember your mum for all the strength, courage and joy she gave you.

One day at a time chuck, one night at a time too. Grab the little bits of joy where you can find them. Don't feel guilty if something makes you smile right now. Buy in copious amounts of gin and chocolate and be good to yourself.

    More hugs coming your way.

I lost both of my parents by the time I was 21, it is one of the hardest things to go through, especially as I lost mine within 18 months of each other.

Oh bless you Raven. So young to lose your folks.

I think I remember someone saying a few years ago, that we are not emotionally equipped to deal with the death of our parents under the age of 35.

I am sorry for your sad loss. I guess they were quite young.

Oh Faith, I am so sorry to hear about your Mum. :( I remember you posting not too long back about how her cancer had returned, but I'm speechless at how fast things have happened.

Obviously no one knows exactly how anyone else is feeling, but I've got a pretty good idea what you must be going through right now as sadly I lost my beloved, amazing Dad (also to cancer) on the 29th December. :( I haven't posted on here since before Christmas, (as I'm struggling to come to terms with things at the moment) but just had to post to pass on my condolences and to say take care of yourself and that I am so sorry to hear your news.

    Georgie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :(:(:(:(:(

Bless you. I hope you will be OK.

I am so sorry for you too sweetie. :( (((HUGS)))

I think Faiths brother is alive, if I've read it correctly.

Oh yes, it's me reading it wrong. I read it as my dad and brother died, and then Faith said she was all alone now her mother had gone.

    Sorry Faith. (((HUGS))) My mistake.

And I wish you and your brother peace.

I hope you will both be OK.

So sorry to hear that Faith.

    That's no age at all.

Take good care of yourself xxx
Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
    And we were young.
