Weekly email BT Fibre deal is a bit of a scam.

The option to pay for the line rental, on a yearly basis, has been removed, if it was ever there.
It would have been a superb deal, had I been able to save the £34.
The remaining BT offers aren't very tempting.

I am seeing Advance LR £169.90 .
So looks like the OPs message scam is false .0 -
I'm sorry but line rental saver, for £18.99 as opposed to £16.99 for ordinary monthly line rental, is a different product.
I contacted BT and they acknowledge that the option for a "One-off" payment isn't there and that I should contact them after the order is completed, to change to a yearly payment schedule.
From initially being promoted as available to all, but transpiring the deals are only for new customers, to a missing yearly payment option, it really seems like BT (and MSE?) hopes a few will simply shrug their shoulders and accept the higher prices.
It's good business sense, but as a potential victim, you need to keep your wits about you.0 -
Yet you still signed up with them....0

Yes, I did, but after carefully checking everything. You see?0

What does this mean? Where does £18.99 come from?
In the screenshot above it says:+£16.99 line rental or £169.90 for 12 months in advance
That works out at about £14.16 a month. How is that not a saving on £16.99? :huh:0 -
Yes, I took the promo page at its word too, which was why I was slightly annoyed at being taken for a sucker.
If you click through and begin the order, the option isn't available. However, you are offered 2 versions of line rental: one for £16.99 and another for £18.99, with priority engineer repairs, etc, supposedly.
I've sorted it, but it's all a bit fishy.
Thanks.0 -
Again, it shows fine for me

Well, they appear to have restored the offer. It wasn't there at 16:45.
Maybe the online chat and confirmation of its absence, together with this posting, has embarrassed them, or MSE has had a word. Either way, let's hope it remains until the scheduled deadline.0 -
