I prefer Nav Free as a free Sat Nav app.
NavFree falls down a little for mapping, Nokia Here is more polished, and better mapping, it's as good as most paid apps.
Good to hear, I'll have a look (it probably updated in the background).====0 -

I find Here very poor for finding places, unless you know the post code.
The live traffic aspect of it is useless, not sure where they get their info from.0 -
Waze is a better free app, live traffic updates , automatic re routes round traffic problems. Live feedback on accidents and problems from other users and live indication of traffic speeds from other users using the app as it tracks them

Waze seems to be pretty good for commuting but when I used it, albeit a year ago, it tried to take me down a one way street, which has been one way for over 20 years, then took ten minutes to re-route me.
I believe it has improved though the version for Windows phones gets mixed reviews.
NavFree is not available on Windows phones (just for info)0 -

Nokia Here and Drive is NAVTEQ (the firm is now part of Nokia), so I presume you find the same for all Garmin devices on the market? They also use Navteq mapping which they buy from Nokia.NAVTEQ partners with third-party agencies and companies to provide its services for portable GPS devices made by Garmin, Lowrance, NDrive and web-based applications such as Yahoo! Maps, Bing Maps, and Nokia Maps. Most current Garmin devices can display the current location on a map. The maps are vector-based and stored in the built-in memory or loaded from additional flash media. The built-in (or 'basemap') displays all country borders and major cities. Garmin offers different maps for purchase, including detailed road maps, topographic maps and nautical maps. Non-commercial maps are also available and can be displayed on most Garmin GPS devices.
The maps used by Garmin products are currently provided by Navteq.Waze is a better free app, live traffic updates , automatic re routes round traffic problems. Waze is not really comparable as it is not an offline satnav app, it requires a working data connection to work (meaning it isn't really free to use for many).====0 -
Just read this thread as I need a new android phone too and liked the Motorola, but then I saw there's a 2nd generation of the same model, is it worth it?
Main benefit for me would be the dual sim (I have a spanish sim card which I use when I'm there and it would come quite handy), but not sure about the rest..0 -

Why would you presume that? I haven't tried all the Garmin products on the market.
I do know that finding paces in Here drive is poor. Easier to find them in Here maps and then ask to navigate. Not sure why that should be.0 -

Ive just tried it for 10 random previous destinations from my TomTom, it found every road name without a problem, it will even route to a shopping centre just by the centre name, no road needed.
What road names did you find fault with?
Perhaps you were trying it in one of the early betas?====0
