Landlords to blame for Britain's rising house prices

I hope these desparate house price increase lovers loose their properties.
Oh dear.....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Genuinely interested in how you arrived at that number. If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -

Which would show clearly that someone else has an overridding interest in the property.
A charge on the property is not owning it, I am the legal owner, I can simply pay them off, and they can't do anything about it, that interest wouldn't exist anymore.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
Oh to live in a country where we are all born into a world with a free basic education system, which we can choose to use, or to abuse.....
....where we can choose, at modest cost, to better ourselves with higher education whilst others are out earning money, learning a trade, or not as they freely choose. A world where we can choose to be idle, or choose not to seek opportunities, and yet still not starve, want for a roof over our heads, or go without medical treatment.
....er.... I think we do don't we?
What a shame, therefore, that there are so many people who fail to understand or comprehend how such a 'free country' works. To blame BTL landlords for house price movements is like blaming GP's as a group for the cost of bandages! A GP is an individual (as is a landlord) with only very limited ability to influence (or be influenced by) his peers. It is fallacious in the extreme that action by individuals such as this can be responsible for 'material' market movements.
I sought a hotel room for a quick overnight stay later this week. I checked prices and zoomed in on the one I wanted. At £88. Having conferred with Mrs LM later that day, I went to book it only to find the price was now £105. Following the logic of this thread, I can only 'blame' the people who (presumably attending the same event) got 'in there' quickly and booked before I did! When I get there, shall I stand on a soapbox in reception with a megaphone and harangue all the guests who got in first and 'caused' my own price to increase?
No. I shall rightly put it down to market forces.0 -
A common delusion.
It must be extremely common, as well as the owners (oops there I go again), the whole legal system, the estate agents and even the mortgage lenders themselves are apparently suffering from this delusion. In fact so is the entire country apart from you, or it could just be you of course.
EDIT: As I said above, a charge on a property is not owning it, I am the legal owner, I can simply pay the mortgage off, and they can't do anything about it, that charge wouldn't exist anymore.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Some would tell you they see God, they are deluded and therefore likely to be part of the crashy crew.0 -
