Voting competitions will always have this element to them and I think alot of compers are against them and think it should be judgement by panel.

Your argument is really about how the competition is designed, rather than the quality of anyone's entries, and that's not really anything to do with the elite

In any case, it wouldn't be a hollow victory if it has a great prize/opportunity attached to it. If it meant giving me a hand up in my career, I wouldn't give a monkeys tbh about someone else who didn't bother using social media as a way of promoting their entry, because you can guarantee that ALL the top entries are doing just that
