Sold 3 of the listed items to the grand total of £5.50....:rotfl:

Majorly spendy day today as went to get some christmas presents, made a very good dent in my Christmas budget, feeling a bit strange about it. But it was budgeted for and it is Christmas! I think it's because I've been reining in spending it felt strange to just buy!

Also got myself that dress and cards I liked from few weeks ago, took it home tried on and hated the dress .. So that went back.

Aldis food shop came to £52 for the week :)

Feeling a bit down in the dumps.. Nothing happened per se.. Just feel ill and full of cold and certain things at work are getting me down :(
I do not believe I can get another job for the same pay so feel like I must stay put. It is mostly fine just the occasional annoyance, but really got to me today.

Decided that there's no way we can do the extension! Yeah I'm on a good wage but it can so easily change, I want my hubby to earn more.. There is too much pressure being the main earner :(

Also feel like we spent too much money already this month! I know I have £500 in savings but don't want to dip into them!

Feeling a teeny bit more positive, just trying to pick myself up really :)

Problem with us is that we want everything right now and are impatient, even with things like "we want the extension" we should be thinking that "we are lucky to have a house" instead. Really and truly we should be concentrating on paying off the debt and then reducing the mortgage as much as poss.. so if anything did happen with our jobs it wouldnt be such an issue.

Still have a horrible cold today, hopefully will start to feel better soon!

Feeling a lot better now although still not 100% this cold/virus seem to be going round a lot of people I know are ill at the moment.

Will weigh myself today, I haven't been as good as I intended these past few weeks, but I'm determined to change my food habits and I know I need to excersise! But I will take small steps... Sort out my diet first :)

Money wise we should be ok this month, have bought lots of Christmas presents already, my daughter is done, and only a few smaller things to get for son. Also daughters birthday present is sorted thanks to her grandad (it's a v expensive item (laptop) and we clubbing in together but he put a lot more money towards it bless him :) ).

So all that is good, I am however having problems with another family member (my side of the family), they now owe me £150 and I am involved in their finances due to the fact they are a very close family member and been bankrupt before. I am monitoring their bank account and they will have about £20 coming out in bank changes on Monday and the account has £2!! So I might need to give another £20 to them  that would make it £170 they owe me this month!

And another family member on my side owes me £40

Sorry to be so cryptic just worried about posting exact details on the forum in case I'm identified, I always leave my tablet lying around with history etc... It's so difficult and I have spoken to them before, they are really dragging me down but can't see it! It's so frustrating :(

I'm thinking for my own sake and the sake of my own budget to have say £200 saved up for this purpose, they will pay back eventually.. Only to ask again few months later! So its like I'm their overdraft facility basically.....

In other financial news, the cat had neutering surgery (-£55) and we got a birthday present for nephew (-£20).

Anyway enough moping, I have a lot to do today :)
Hope everyone is having a good halloweeny weekend!

A little update from me... I did weigh myself and seem to be the same between 10st 11 - 10st 12ish... so just 3lbs below 11st

I mean I know I am not huge and my friends and hubby keep telling me Im fine as I am, but having been so skinny in the past it seems that the weight has crept up on me. And I would love to get to 10st which I think will be a healthier weight for me.

So I need to try harder as i know that maybe a few treats and cakes etc.. have made its way on to my plate while i supposed to be on a diet :o

I also had a browse in the shops which i stopped doing awhile ago and have seem a couple of things I really liked. Now I dont know whether to wait until I lose some weight and get myself them? As a treat and a motivational tool :) I have decided awhile ago to start allocating a little clothes budget as my wardrobe does need updating.

In other news! My Dd has lost her new coat that I got her just 2 weeks ago! I cannot believe shes done it again!! She went back to the room she thought she left it in (at school) and it wasnt there and not in the lost property apparently. I told her she must try harder to recover it, speak to the teacher etc.. I am thinking of giving the school a call, but I am sure they will tell me a 13 year old should have looked after her coat better in the first place :(

When DD1 lost her coat in the first term of year 7 she said there was no point in buying another as there was no where to put them and they had to carry round a big coat all day. So from then on it was a thick black fleece jacket which could still be stuffed into school bag and a brolly when wet in autumn/winter and in spring/summer a thinner black fleece jacket. DD1 left after year13 and then DD2 started year7 That year the PTA decided to sell off all the lost property/lost uniforms and DD2 volunteered to help sort it out...............lo and behold she found DD1 coat.....being a teacher myself I ALWAYS insisted in their names in everything:rotfl::rotfl: DD2 brought it home and I sold it on Eb*Y:)

Good news she found the coat!! So the reason the other coat and hoodie dissapeared forever must be because they were Superdry?

Anyway I'm really happy as I really didn't want to spend on yet another coat! But she was lucky and needs to get with it... She is too absent minded! Would lose her head if it wasn't screwed on...

I went out last night to a total spend of £0 :D my boss bought me a couple of drinks and when I went to get him one back didn't want it... So I've asked the bar staff to top up my wine with lemonade (didn't want to get drunk and had two glasses already). And the nice bar boy didn't charge me for a splash of lemonade bless him :D

My diet is going a bit better since I last posted, I keep telling myself get to 10st and I will buy myself some new clothes - seem to be very motivating :) I also have a good breakfast with protein (egg, avocado, peanut butter toast 1 slice etc...) which seem to make me less hungry, then heathy ish (can't be perfect all the time!) lunch but the key I think is having a very small dinner... I still had fish and chips for lunch as my usual Friday treat but asked for less chips and no dinner last night.

Weighed myself this morning and still 10st 13.. But stomach feels flatter..

In financial news, I should be getting the money owed to me by 15th, £160 and the £40 from another family member by December (I've asked to be in time for Xmas spends). I'm going to have to get tougher and say no more!

I can't remember if I mentioned before but kids Christmas presents are done! And my DDs January birthday also done. Very happy as minimal spends left as we don't buy expensive presents for adults..

Quiet weekend ahead, but must leave now to get on with the housework.

Have a good weekend everyone xx
  • You're doing really well on the Christmas spends! I think I know what I'm getting DD and we have made a start, but nowhere near finished yet :o

I know what you mean about family regarding you as their own personal overdraft.. I have similar. And I'm watching my diet too.. Trying WW again. Seems to suit me better than SW. xx
