Congratulations on the baby, it is a joyful time for you both and for your extended families!

I wouldn't waste a single moment of that joy. I wouldn't let an 'overspend' get in the way of all the happy times that have now arrived.

Money is only money and what is done is done. Enjoy your chef experience for what it is, you can tighten your belts afterwards if you need to.

Babies have an incredible way of generating what is needed. When my first grandchild was born, she seemed to have a direct line to my purse, wallet and bank account. To say nothing of my heart!

This is no time for financial regret. Enjoy the meal and trust the future. It's looking amazing.

Glad to read you'd paid the charity, IMO that was the right thing to do. That was a very generous amount, and I'm sure the charity can do some wonderful things with it. You still have plenty of time to get your finances in order before the arrival of the baby, and small babies really only cost what you're prepared to spend on them.
