Hi Errata,
It's not a gormless question! You can freeze it. There's an earlier thread with lots of hints on how best to freeze and defrost mash that should help so I'll add your thread to it to keep the replies together.

For those of you who are wanting to freeze mash a few ideas - you could add flour and s&p and make gnocchi (these are potato dumplings that can be used instead of pasta) - these can be frozen. Or you could make potato scones with them and freeze them.£10 per day Challenge (Oct)

I want to make a big batch of mash and freeze it in individual portions for future use - can "mash" be frozen? How long can I keep it in the freezer for? Anything I need to be aware of?
Thanks! :T0 -
no reason not to freeze mashed potatoes, you can even buy it in the supermarkets. after taking it out you may need to add some butter when
youre heating it up so its not drymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

another thing you can do is to mix the mash while slightly warm with plain flour, turn it into almost a rthick floury dough. Shape into potato cakes then shallow fry till crispy on both sides, I like them v crunchy so grill and or oven them for 10 mins too. Sounds like a faff but they are lovely with beans bacon & egg for a brekkie or perfect with just butter on thier own. You can of course add shredded spring onions/ fish ( flaked tuna?) and orther mashed veggies like sweet pot or carrots?
they freeze well, I lay them in between greaseproof then store in a tupperware in freezer. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
