NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It's my birthday and *stamps foot* I HATE PEOPLE STEALING MY DAY. I don't expect the world to revolve around me (well, I do a little bit) but I just think it's tacky.
We may not have it all together, but together we have it all

  • I used to think I would hate it but my OH proposed on Valentine's Day 9 years ago. However it also happened to be his birthday AND the day we went for our first scan for our daughter.

He also did it on wet bended knee in the rainy hospital car park - just to be different!!! I loved it.

I agree, I have purposely made a card for my OH as I believe that is more creative and thoughtful. I refuse to buy into the commercialism of the day. I mean, there are huge heart teddys in Sainsburys for £20.00 come the 15th they will be reduced to a fiver no doubt!

I just feel sorry for all the men who feel compelled to get something for her indoors just so that he does not get it in the ear! Cue the incessant pictures on social media. So glad I am no longer on it!

That is a really lovely idea and I'd be thrilled with something like that :). I always prefer a well thought out card to anything even the most expensive gifts.

  • Oh and we also just get cards and not pressies. I like to make a fuss of my OH as it his birthday. Bit of a PITA having to think of 2 different soppy things to write (one in his birthday card and one in his valentine)!!
  • I'm not fussy, I'll take a proposal wherever and whenever I can get it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    My nose is red
    My toes are blue
    Get your kit off
I want to snuggle up to you

    Is that soppy enough? :rotfl:
  • A marriage proposal on Valentine's Day? Why, how terribly unoriginal and lacking in imagination! Cheese-burger, anyone? :p
  • I'm getting married on Saturday, does that count? :D

Woohooo, getting married on Valentine's Day? Love it! Have a great day tomorrow!

My birthday too. Rubbish it's impossible to go out.

However we got engaged on it two years ago. BUT it was so unexpected because it was on my birthday/Valentine's day. Always thought it be on holiday up on some mountain not at our dining table after dinner. Loved it.
