I'm getting married on Saturday, does that count? :D

Hoping you have a superb day & your beloved has Absolutely No Excuse for forgetting the anniversary - well timed!

thriftylass, at least people are *reminded* to get you a card, even if it is pink & wildly inappropriate. The dark wet end of September with a cousin 6 days after & 95% of our family gets one or both dates wrong...

I'm buying my husband a new pair of work trousers for valentines day. Same price as a bunch of roses.
Never again will the wolf get so close to my door

I think that's why he chose it also as an engagement date. Valentines day...wait there was sth else... oh yeah. Our wedding date was the day we met 10 years on, also easy to remember :rotfl:

Shame on your family though, have they not heard of calendars. I've got all bithdays etc in the kitchen calendar otherwise I'd be lost

I'm free and available for marriage proposals. :)
  • OH and are getting engaged, but I've point blank told him not to ask the question on Valentines or my birthday - can't imagine anything worse! :rotfl:

I've never really understand the concept of a couple saying they are 'getting engaged' at some point in the future. Surely the date you 'got engaged' was the date you both decided that you wanted to 'be engaged'.
  • Oh, I completely agree - basically we are engaged (ring ordered and everything), but OH wants to 'ask me properly', whatever that means. Just means I can't talk to anyone about it yet! My Mum thinks we're crazy :)

I'm not bothering doing anything special fot Valentines day tomorrow, not after last year. Some women are never grateful no matter how much thought you put into things.
I told her i was booking a special table-for-two and we'd have a good time. During the night i could see she was annoyed at something, and even on the way home it was deathly quiet, i was being the silent treatment. It wasn't my fault.
I didn't know she didn't know how to play snooker.

Totally agree here. A proposal doesn't have to be formal but if you have decided to get married then you are engaged. :p
