Booking a holiday in term time ?

Ahh but according to the morons, we CHOSE to have disabled children. It serves us all right for being working parents....I mean its not rocket science after all
So why aren't you doing the sensible thing and launching a case against the school for discrimination? If you genuinely believe you have a special case because your child is disabled, then the law will be on your side. If it can be argued that there are specific circumstances directly related to your child's disability that mean only a term time holiday is possible, then good luck to you. Put your money where your mouth is and fight the fine if you think you're being discriminated against. If you just accept it, then IMO you forfeit your right to argue that the reason you need a term time holiday is because your child has a disability. It's not rocket science."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Sorry, my comments weren't aimed at you. I was talking more generally about other posters arguments' and the reasons some people use to justify taking their children out of school."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

I think this is being a bit over the top seeing as i have not even mentioned in any post in being discriminated ? I am just asking the process of what to do.

Fortunately for our Son, his SEN school are understandable when it comes to holidays and are extremely flexible about it, moreso when it comes to severe autism.
Saying this, I imagine even paying the fine on top of the term time holiday, would still save a fortune in holiday costs. For the sake of my Sons disability and to ensure he has as much of a satisfactory or educational holiday as he can, I would happily pay the fine, no matter how high they thought they could put it.
Some of us do not choose term time holidays for the sake of saving a few hundred quid.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Some people are best off being ignored completely, rather than fed
I do hope you're not talking about me here. I do not need 'feeding', I am not a troll. I'm simply presenting a different argument to yours, which I'm backing up with valid reasons, just as no doubt you feel you can back up your own. It's really not appropriate to dismiss people who disagree with you as trolls - it weakens your argument and suggests you can't cope with debate."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
my son has not had a weeks holiday in 3 years.. he has only been away for weekends which he has not coped well with.. hence the need this year to take him away for a week. he suffers terrible with his health all year round and has a cold virus for at least 4 months of the winter period. we feel he has really got the stage now whereby he would benefit from a weeks stress free break... this will probably be the the only time we do it as we are hoping as he gets older he may be able to manage it and be better equipped especially if we are talking another 3.5 years when he will be 10 years old.

The Sea Air will do him the World of good. Have you anywhere special in mind?
Portugal - he has had a trial flight when he was 3 ryan air were giving away free seats to my sons special needs nursery and he qualified for a 1 hour round trip down to cornwall and back hubbie took him and he coped quite well. so hoping he may well be ok for 2 hour 50 min flight... We have chosen a quiet hotel away from nightlife and activities.. so we can do the beach. swimming. walking thing.. but I very much doubt we shall be doing much sunbathing or lying on loungers which you would probably confirm with me

We have not risked putting our Son on a flight. I dread to think what he would be like running up n down the aisles as I apologetically say "Autistic"" to the furious passengers.
If he has truly never visited a beach, he is going to love the sensations of playing in the sand and paddling the ripples. Yep, you know your time will be spent keeping him in toe, but be sure you all enjoy yourselves:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
