  • I promise I'm not grumbling at the amount (or the very lovely lady who helped my do my application and maintain a level of dignity in what, for me, was a horrid situation) - it's the gvt's money, their right to do as they will with it in this instance, and frankly I'm grateful for the help in the first place - just grumbling about the tone of the letter. :o

Sorry if my comment came across as though I thought you were grumbling - I know you weren't but thought I would let you know the likely history behind it.

Also birthday-cake-emoticon-three-candles.gif for yesterday - hope you had a fab day with friends!!

    It didn't at all - I promise! :D

And I had a lovely day, thank you (much cake...soooo much cake!!).
  • Morning Lovelies!

It's been quite the weekend here. Much cake, lots of prezzies (so, so spoilt!!) and a wonderful time with friends of both the two legged and four legged variety.

Aaaannnd, £85 (so far) in ebay sales - which is far more than I'd hoped, so I'm really chuffed. Working on the basis that 'every pound has a job' (thanks Muffintop!), it's gone straight onto the credit card that I used on Friday.

It's also prompted me to think about selling more bits and pieces from around the house (I'm such a hoarder!). Not just to raise the money, but also because I'm finding that as I declutter my home, it declutters my brain a bit too - which can only be a good thing, right? Right? Oi!! :rotfl:

This week I'm all about thinking about spring. I have a sort of conservatory/greenhouse/thing attached to the back of the house and this week I'll be getting it cleared, cleaned and set up as a proper greenhouse with my seedlings started. I love growing my own veg. I'm not overly good at it, but as hobbies go, it gives me a lot of satisfaction just to potter around. I got lots of seeds and bits for Christmas, and have unopened bags of compost left from last year, so no additional money required.

Right. Best get on - kettle's on. Who wants what?

  • Tea please for me and can I pinch a custard cream

I have some marmite bread I made yesterday we can toast

I think that decluttering is very good for the mind - and something I have not been able to do for a couple of years - this of course makes me worse and I dont know where to start - so tomorrow (cant today got prison - will start in the bath room and throw out everything that I dont use - all those half bottle of stuff

Nora if you find you need anything for your little green house to get things moving when you have sorted it - dont forget freecycle/freegal - I have to admit to having a separate mobile with a payg sim just for giving to people or phoning from - I can at need throw it - but that has not happened so far

oh and if you have any hanging baskets - strawberries not only look pretty but they are up away from slugs :) that is my tip of the day

enjoy your day it is raining here so a good time to fill the seed trays and pop them out for a watering :)

  • Coffee please :)

Glad you had a fab birthday  and well done on the Eb4y sales - that's fab and should more than cover a meal out unless you really hit the wine!

Decluttering definitely works in more areas than just the one the clutter first went from IYSWIM. I'm similarly working on pruning my stuff and have liked a few minimalist pages on FB which helps remind me.

Seedlings is a good idea... if I got the garden tidied next weekend, I could grow a few things even though it's all pots and patio flags. That's a good motivation, thank you :A

Well, we should have known that "Love Day" is also Nora's birthday! I managed to work around the lit candles and take a slice of cake along with a hearty sip of the coffee. Is that a crab pincher poking out there? :D

I hope you had a fantastic day and were properly spoiled by all, including lots of addition to your clothing funds.

    xx

Sorry for the radio silence - but would you believe that birthday celebrations are still continuing?! (and that I'm still munching birthday cake - anyone want some?). It all culminates this weekend with a visit from one of my oldest friends - very excited.

I don't know what the next stage on from being spoilt is, but I am most definitely feeling it! :D

My clothing budget (made up from various shop vouchers) is looking exceedingly healthy. I actually tried to spend some of them yesterday - but managed to talk myself out of everything I picked up! Might take me a bit of practice to get this shopping lark right! :rotfl:

In other news, the ebay sales continue to bimble along nicely - it's such a thrill whenever something sells! The money is now being put towards a few bits and pieces I needed to complete some presents I'm making. You don't want to hear about those - they're for Christmas!

I'm also giving my craft business a kick up the unmentionable - it's my preferred way to increase my income, but I'd lost my mojo a bit since Christmas. Thankfully, I have a wonderful support network which has just clipped me round the ear (in the nicest possible way) and motivated me to pull my socks up.

So I'm a busy little bee at the moment - all full of plans, potential and positivity. And tea. And chocolate. :D

Right, time for a fresh cuppa - who wants what?

    Have a good' un

Can I have a cuppa and a slice of cake please?!

I know what you mean about struggling to spend money on shopping! I give myself a clothes allowance of £10 per month - It's built up to £47.01 as I've only spent £2.99 (on a top from Lidl of all places!) in 5 months and also have a voucher from xmas!

I've got some bits which I MUST put on eBay - darling OH blocked my account but best friend has said I can use hers.

Hope you have a lovely time with your friend!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,200
Total paid off - £10,400.89 (66% paid off)

Chocolate curls???? I hope there's a massive tupperware box around there with a large bit of birthday cake and lots of chocolate curls with my name on it! ;)

It's great when we're able to properly celebrate our birthdays over a period of time. One day for celebrations???? Ppppfffftttt to that! :p

Happy longest friend excitement day this weekend.:D
