Hello, Lovely! Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I'm good, thanks - back down to three jobs as the Christmas one is done.moneyonmymindsam wrote: »Evening Gorgeously gorgeous - Hope you are well and Coping with the 4 jobs :-) xxx We miss you
All good, and I've got plans (plus chocolate)! I'll be back over the next few days to share... well, share my plans, not my chocolate obviously *rolls eyes*

Oh, hello - what a lovely surprise to see you here. mwah!
How have you been?
Me? Well, it's been quite the year, month and week, I can tell you... in fact, grab a chair and I shall....
Christmas was interesting as I'd managed to pick up some extra work which made life a little easier financially though a bit more difficult in terms of time and other stuff. Still, beggars and choosers, right?
I've also been hibernating as much as I could over the last couple of months and thought deep thoughts about my situation and what I really, really want (a-zigga-zig-ahhh).
My first conclusion was that I need to move house. I know most of you had got there before me, but I've caught up with the sensibleness (especially as the rent's gone up again).
It's going to take me a little while as I need to be a bit better off financially - that good old 'financial attractiveness' thing, plus I need a deposit which is independent of the one I have on the current place.
So I'm on a big declutter-and-sell drive, which is not only helping clear my overdraft but also my mind. And isn't spring the best time for doing this sort of thing? *happy sigh*
The next conclusion wasn't a new one, but an affirmation of an ongoing one - I need to earn more money. Simple.
So I muscled down and got some help from very smart friends to exercise my rusty interview muscles, and on Tuesday I was offered a wonderful job! Full time, and triple what I'm on now (plus, for those of you who're long-time readers, it's more than the other jobs had offered...
).
It'll be a little while before I start, so I'm putting the interim time to good use by putting together a revised budget, debt-reducing and savings plan so that I don't fritter the extra money. I've been back on the budget planner and have been snowballing to work out what goes where first. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to plan like this!
I have to put together a work wardrobe, which is a little worrying as *cough* no money *cough* so the overdraft and credit card might see a bit of a hit - but I'm working with a friend to go through what I've currently got and looking at how I can bulk it out with strategic purchases to limit the spends (plus, charity shops etc obvs).
Although it's not a immediate priority now, I'm also still committed to moving somewhere smaller and cheaper - I have this real need to make better use of my wages and the house is the majority part of that. Still not sharing though - nope. now way. *shakes head* *shudders*
So, that's me in a nutshell - now I'm off to investigate the possibility of opening lots of different accounts so I can 'piggy bank' properly....
Squishy hugs to you all.

And also don't spend the money before it's earned.Knitting_Nora wrote: »I've been back on the budget planner and have been snowballing to work out what goes where first. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to plan like this!
Planning for the future is always more enjoyable than sitting there and letting it hit you.Knitting_Nora wrote: »Although it's not a immediate priority now, I'm also still committed to moving somewhere smaller and cheaper - I have this real need to make better use of my wages and the house is the majority part of that.
Just don't let it slip. I let it slip for *years*. I had reasons, but still a PITA now.Knitting_Nora wrote: »Still not sharing though - nope. now way. *shakes head* *shudders*
It'll be fun. Apparently. Not that I do... :whistle:Knitting_Nora wrote: »Squishy hugs to you all.

I second the George stuff at Asda and I'm a big fan of Matalan blouses - also had a couple of their office type dresses as interview oufits which have lasted much longer than I've managed to actually fit in to them!
I can only comiserate about the moving fun, it sucks, its hard work but if you've got some decluttering done and know you're going somewhere that'll cost you less then it'll be worth it in the long run. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
