  • P.S. *stands up* Hello everyone, my name is Nora-sort-of, and I've only had one chocolate orange, six small squares of chocolate and a nasty Cadbury's caramel individually wrapped chocolate in four weeks.

The Cadbury's bar from whence the squares came is still in the fridge, largely unmolested.

    *sits back down*
    *bobs back up again*

And two cans of coke, one bottle of coke and 3 glasses of pepsi in the same timeframe.

    *sits back down again*
    *waits for applause*
*notes the sound of crickets and the sight of tumbleweed passing through*
  • Nora Nora Nora!!! :j:j:T:j

It's so good to see you. And I'm so glad you're happy.

Pffft to loans, I'm sure you'll find a way of kicking its behind - after all look what you've just done with the insurance and BT!

I am very impressed with your chocolate limitations though slightly bemused at this new masochism. Does this mean you don't want any of these pralines? :D

Nora - surely you need the chocolate to help your brain power sort out a cunning plan!

Yay! You're here and really getting on with things again! Even with such a lack of sugary treats! I need a little picture of you for my Vision Board as I'm now using you as my inspiration of where I need to be!

So lovely to hear how things are picking up for you! It is ironic that it's now the price of the loan taking you over your affordability line, but I'm sure that getting that loan helped you reduce your outgoings by more than the loan amount.

Fingers and toes crossed for your full time job journey.
  • *sniffle* you're all so blooming lovely *wipes happy sniffles away*

The chocolate and coke thing is part of a change towards more planned and healthier eating. I'm actually enjoying savouring the odd can of coke or piece of chocolate as a treat rather than a habit (Bounty bar got snuck in today...).

I'm massively addicted to hummous with toasted pittas and crudit!s for my work lunch, and I notice if I have a day without a decent heap of veggies which I'm quite surprised about.

I'm also learning to enjoy the challenge of using up cupboard and freezer contents. At some point this week I've got two lentil-based soups to make up and freeze - I'll be running perilously close to using a good portion of the unopened pack of red lentils that's been in the cupboard since time began! I'll let you know how it all works out. :D

  • All sounds good Miss N

I am managing to cut down the sugar a bit by taking in lunches and having less trips to tempting shops.

Also convinced there must be a way of making cocoa tea compensate... just haven't found the formula yet... *stares thoughtfully at coffee machine and wonders what a cocoa espresso might work out like*

  • Yay Nora's back too. I'm feeling the love in the room.

So happy to hear you sound so positive. You're posts always have a lifting effect.

    Take care.

PS - Did you find my hidey hole. One of you did. It was empty so now filled up with nice home made treats xx

  • Someone at work gave me 3 (count 'em - THREE) chocolate oranges as a thank you today. That's totally one of your five a day, right? ;)

Also, got an interview for a full time grown-up job in a couple of weeks - CROSS EVERYTHING!! If I get it, the debt is toast and it's my path to saving for a new car and my own home. So, you know, no pressure. :D

*starts working on her interview smile*

  • If I'm sounding happier, then it's because I am. I'm focussed on my personal goals, I'm more in control and I'm weaning myself off of being so reliant on others. Don't get me wrong - I'm still asking for help if I need it, and I'm yet to become a total recluse, but I'm discovering (re-discovering?) the pure joy of time spent alone. Even better, is time spent alone doing tasks that have annoyed me for years! (I've had my fridge-freezer for about four years, and have been meaning to switch the doors round since the first day. Finally did it on Sunday - took me all of 20 minutes!!). I've had people ask if I've lost weight - I haven't, at least not enough to notice, but I'm walking a little taller and smiling a bit more sincerely these days and I'll bet that's what they're noticing.

    And isn't that just lovely?

Love and hugs to you all.

Oh Em Gee... This ^^ is just about the most positive and smile-making thing I've read in a long long time! Well done you! :T

^^ This, however... what are you thinking, caramel chocolate in the fridge, are you mad?!! Surely it's at its most delightful at room temperature? :p

Just saying hello :hello: don't think we've met before Nora but your writings always make me smile! Keep up the good work! :D
