I actually own a domain and had set up an email address for it, but when I swapped hosts I don't know whether that sort of thing stays 'up'. I shall have a word with my tame IT guy - who also happens to be a friend's hubby and my webby-hostie-person. If you're getting the feeling that I know nothing about interwebby stuff, then you'd be right!

Fab, if you just get it ironed out now - and I'm sure there will be a way of forwarding it etc - then you will be able to chop and change and barter with suppliers all you like without causing yourself bother

On the down side, according to my spreadsheet, I definitely can't afford to eat, breath or drive anywhere for the rest of the year.... :rotfl:
Good :T it really does help with feeling in control, doesn't it? And now that you know where you are at, you will also be able to see how things change
Knitting_Nora wrote: »I'm also working on the 4 minute shower challenge - which you'd think would be easy for someone as short as I am...but no. I've decided the main problem is the time it takes to wash my long(ish) hair. *plots shaving head*
:rotfl:I couldn't do it either and for the same reason! Though I could nearly make it work if I turned off the shower while shampooing/ conditioning and back on for rinsing. I have a little hourglass-timer thing from the water company... might try it again, though am definitely not cutting off hair!
Well done for putting BT in their box :T you sound all busy and sparkly

I'm a bit late to the party but I just wanted to say that I have an allowance each week which covers anything not budgeted for e.g. eating out. I have the week's allowance in cash in my purse so if it's not in there it can't get spent (although I do have my card as a back up). This did mean that last week I met a friend for dinner and had to count out the last bit in 5ps! I find I'm much better having cash but I know I've read the opposite so I guess it's just what works for you.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,435.00
Total paid off - £10,165.89 (65% paid off)0 -
Nora poor Mishka got his legs all tied up he is such a long legged dog (think greyhound shape but miniture with slightly longer legs in proportions to body) he is now curled up right next to me
NO WAY can I do a four mins shower - I prefer a bath as it helps me relax and that is another reason for having a longish shower I need that time to switch off - I am sure I should have been some sort of water nymph the way I love water
hope you are able to spend some time in the sun today and enjoy it

            Nora,
How is April going now that we're half way through? Are you finding that it was the right decision to keep it?
Great news on the BT call. That really is such a rarity and I'm so glad that it was you who received that treatment. and good customer service.

Oh also, regarding the eBayer who had a sad tale to tell! A couple of years ago I was selling bits and bobs on eBay and I had a lovely email from a nice sounding man asking that I do a quick sale on a couple of my items as his son had seen them and was really excited at the prospect of getting them but sadly Daddy couldn't stretch to the money I was asking. I just wanted things gone and knowing they were going to a good home I was more than happy to sell early and get them to this child.
A few weeks later, the same thing when I put some items up and again I had no issue with it. Happy to help. Then I looked at his account!!!!! Obviously everyone knows where I'm going with this now! He had my items on (with the pictures I'd taken) for over double what I was originally asking as well as many other things! The thing is, if he'd been honest we could have sorted something out that worked really well in his financial favour and in my declutter favour but he decided that being fake and conning me was the better option.
So the fact you got so many emails makes me think that maybe she wanted a bargain to sell on.
Right, I need to molest a hob nob!

So sad isn't it? And you begin to judge others by these experiences. Had a chap turn up for a table yesterday, only to discover that he didn't have quite the right money and I didn't have any change. To be honest, although he seemed very lovely, I didn't want any trouble and wanted rid of the table, so told him to take it and just paypal the money over. Having had nothing by the time I went to bed, I assumed I'd never see him or the money again. Got up this morning to discover he'd paid while I was asleep - lovely.MuffinTops wrote: »Oh also, regarding the eBayer who had a sad tale to tell! My condolences to the Hobnob!
*snaffles chocolate chip shortbread* *clicks kettle on for a shared cuppa with Missus A* Bit of both, to be honest. Nice bunch of orders arrived early in the week, I've had money stuff to sort, and the laptop is starting to develop it's own tantrums so it's not always easy to post. That said, one of my tame IT friendlies has just offered to swap a complete MOT of the laptop for cake, so that bit should be sorted soon.:DHome made chocolate chip shortbread today - enjoy

hope that is so this weekend
Right, my lovelies, not hanging around tonight as have things to do and desperately tired so need an early night. Will catch up with you all tomorrow.

You've been busy while I was away Nora.
Yay for the negotiation and organising you've been doing.
You mentioning your water meter has reminded me that apparently I have one but I've no idea where it is on/around the property, its def not in any of the usual places - under the sink, or around the meter boxes for my gas and 'leccy. Might get around to calling the water co on my next day off to sort that one out (my estimated metered bill is roughly what the co claim is average for a 2 bed, three person household, I'm in a one bed alone!).It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
