Can't argue with that - thankfully our car is far too scabby for any self-respecting car thief to consider. Every new ding is another burglar alarm ;)

have one of those alarms that text us on the barn and just installing another on the house. Its really for peace of mind. We have cctv cameras at the back of the house too. A while back "someone" made 3 attempts on the barn being scared off once by dog and I.
The one on the house is just for peace of mind because it is isolated here and I've never worried about it, but now, I face being alone a lot when the dreaded C takes doggy away and I don't like the thought. So, alarm being installed so I can sleep without worry. (Doggy usually sleeps upstairs with us). I think the peace of mind aspect is cool. I can set it when I am in and on own. And if I am out and coming back on own the text will at least warn me!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Ed im sure its not that bad haha

Watty totally agree once its happened to you once its always in your mind im in a public area well on the outside but still most people wont phone the police if the alarm goes off anyway so a text is a must imo

Im sure youll be safe tho and if it ever goes off and your own your own just ring police

A really good idea to have an alarm with text. I've got a new one in a box waiting to go up (was a birthday pressie as I like practical things :D). Dogs are a deterrent (one barked at 2.30 this morning for no good reason though ) but peace of mind is everything.

Having been burgled back in 1999 (fortunately not there at the time), it's the worst feeling in the world to feel your private, personal and supposedly safe space has been invaded, trashed, gone through, stuff taken and worst of all it takes quite a while to get over it and the sentimental stuff can never be replaced :(

They obviously didn't like my taste in music as though all my CDs were scattered everywhere, none were missing :rotfl:

If you've got an alarm and someone else nearby hasn't, the opportunist will go to the other house.

:rotfl: Eclectic taste..from Talk Talk to Julia Fordham.

Moved house 3 years after that to this one which had (still has) a fake alarm box. Can't wait to get the proper alarm up - DIY mate doing it too.

Good saving on the car insurance and great your connected up at your house now :T

    Mortgage Update

Just Did my last OP for the month £120 this time :j:j

In Total iv OP £609 This month :j:j:j
    This was made up from
    Interest on accounts
    Coin jar
    Friend pay me back
    Legal and general payment
As i managed to save really well on furniture i could put spending money in OP

my first payment was £350 this month on the 2nd as its the first payment of my remortgage so a bit more payed off than normally will be

Balance at 1st of the month was £66599 Balance Today last OP this month is £65990 :j:j

So saved myself about £500 in interest and knocked 3 months off the term

    Really pleased with that :beer::beer:
