Hello
Anyone know of any cheap prepaid card for mobile broadband, perhaps on Ebay or Amazon?
I think I am searching with the wrong keywords (I used “prepaid internet sim card mobile” and various combinations of these) as what comes up are £20 cards or even dongles !
Thank you for your help

Be sensible. State your full requirements first...rather than asking "how long is a piece of string?"0

A search for 3gb broadband sim on eBay throws up plenty of prepaid mobile broadband SIMs which last up to 90 days. Unfortunately they are all around the £20 mark because that seems to be the going rate now rather than the £10 or so they were a couple of years back.
A 30 day contract SIM will cost about £15 for 10GB from Three with similar deals from the others. A bit less for lower bandwidth.0 -

How you doing Nifty? long time :j
I actually remember you posted a few great offers a while ago but I don't remember on which thread. Basically I need to upload a few videos onto YouTube for a small business channel, the longest is 3 minutes 30ish second
I tried on Wifi at the library but YouTube show "189 minutes remaining" till the end of the upload !!
will 3gb be enough to upload a 3ish min video? also does uploading videos takes much more bandwidth than just watching them or pretty much the same?
I was actually planning to do longer videos in the future (I kinda should) but if it's such a ball...che I'll have to stick to 3 or 4 min max
I only have Mobile Broadband at the moment, I top up PAYG with Giffgaff. a combination of being on a low paid job and renting means I can't have a landline so mobile broadband is the only option I guess...0 -

It's not the length of the video that is relevant, but the size. Check that and you will know how much data you will need to upload the videos. Plus if it fails and you need to start again...more data.
Dependent on network ability in your area, the cheapest way for you to do it is to buy this SIM for £0.99p and to convert the included credit to a month of 'unlimited Internet'(1GB for uploading/downloading) by Texting MONTHWEB to 441.
Your next best Prepaid option gives you 6GB of data over three months, for £15; here
If you need more than 2GB per month, then look towards 30 day contracts; THREE, as aforementioned.
This is all assuming that you have an unlocked USB modem, MiFi or Smartphone that allows Tethering.
If you don't or you need a more versatile unit, I would recommend the Osprey for £20 here. Comes with 15GB of data for the month.
You might wish to give EE your 30 day notice once activated, if you don't want to have as much as 15GB every month. Then you can use the Osprey with the 6GB Prepaid SIM detailed above or unlock it for less than a Pound and use it with any of the offers.
I would go the Osprey route if possible, as 15GB will give you some headroom for your video uploads and afford you the opportunity to see how much data you would need over the month, without the need to pay extra. Plus having 4G capability will speed up your uploads somewhat. Just remember to give your 30 day notice once you are up and running, if you don't want to keep paying £20 per month.0 -

I take a contract every year in March and cancel in October. I use it in my holiday caravan and that's unused the rest of the year.
As you clearly can't find stuff with yor current setup I'd advise taking that one then using it to find the bargains. I don't have the luxury of choice because my caravan is in Norfolk and I have to use an external antenna to get any usable 3G - http://www.digitalham.co.uk/mobile-broadband/0 -

Thank you Nifty
Money’s a bit tight at the moment as I have to buy a new camera to shoot the videos in the first place, so I think I’ll go for the first option, Osprey will have to wait
You started another thread a while on how to get online cheaply, do you still have the link please?0 -

I am using a dongle so no possibility to text...
It says for tablets and Ipads, I am guessing it will work fine on a dongle too?0 -

You put it into a phone(turning mobile data off firstly), send the text and when confirmed, place it into the unlocked dongle.
If you are thinking of getting 10GB for £15, you can afford the Osprey.0
