  • Just wondered if anybody can help me, I applied to AQA and was sent the details via email but am unable to download the application form. Every time I do it says "This file does not have a programme associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations Control panel". Does this mean anything to anyone and can anyone advise what I can do next.
Any help woul dbe greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  • I am guessing that you don't have Microsoft Excel on your computer, which I am pretty certain you'll need to have as you are downloading an Excel document, I don't know if there is a work-around.

I think the work-around is to download something called Openoffice:

Of course, you have to declare all income to them. :)
  • I just wanted to say thanks for all the tips and advice on this thread - I waited two weeks and had no response, so I resent my application on Friday from my hotmail account and just got the email to say I have been accepted :j

Good luck to everyone else that is waiting to hear!!

While I was getting set up, I did experience tremendous delays and difficulty receiving emails from my SR. She'd talk to me on yahoo then say she was sending something... and it wouldn't show up until 5am the next day.

In the end I asked them to use my gmail account, which worked better than bt, for some inexplicable reason.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j
