    Morning Money Savers,
Well, we were expecting snow here this morning, but so far, it's a bright sunny frosty day. Cat even deigned to poke his nose out of the front door.
    My small list today:
*Make BBQ pork fajhitas using the last of the rubber pork. (That piece of pork was from a local farm - 8 food miles - & cost under £7. It did 2 portions of roast dinner, 4 of meat pie, 2 of fajhitas, 2 of stew & 2 packed lunches.....plus our robin & sparrows gobbled up all the fat, so I thought that was good value).
*Make 2 pasta bakes to use up some ham - 1 for tomorrow's dinner & the other for the freezer.
*Did a few surveys. Only need another 10,000 Toluna points to claim next voucher & that amount of points can be added on over a couple of nights in a good week.
*Did 2 quick projects for an online survey community for a food brand which I'm on at the moment, as I've done quite well with vouchers from them.
*Opened a jar of the rhubarb jam I made last Spring. Unlike chutney & pickles, etc, jams don't 'mature', but weirdly, this rhubarb jam seems to have really improved from storage. Am counting calories, but even so, a teaspoon of this jam on a sesame ryvita-substitute ('like brands only better', lol) made a nice & very cheapo snack :-)
*A 2nd full-sized box of cereal arrived in the post for testing.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch & work snacks.
    *De-cluttered today's 4 items.
*Updated energy use spreadsheets as this got overlooked at the weekend.
*Lots of lovely (free!) leisure time today, so have lit my clay flower-pot room warmer up in my little HQ room & am intending to have another 2 or 3 hours working on my family tree. That is going to need a Big Massive Coffee, so will go & get the kettle on.
MMM - Good news about the job.
Hope all Invalids starting to pick up now.
Keep your hands on your pence. DFWs........beating The System......because we can!

    Morning DFW-Jedis,

Well, life goes on, as does the almost everlasting quest for solvency and sanity. Seem to be having trouble getting going this morning.
Don't know what the h*ll is wrong with me lately; feeling so blue. Must try harder and stop bl**dy moaning! :o After all I have food, a roof over my head and a wonderful OH. Not to mention lots of great virtual-friends. Someone give me a slap! :D

    The List

:starmod: Check online banking and reconcile monies. Done.

    :starmod: Do i-Say surveys. Done.

:starmod: Turn off electric alarm clock at the wall til tonight. Done.

:starmod: Read news online instead of buying a paper.

:starmod: Go for a run if and when the pavement defrosts.

    :starmod: Read Martin's email. (Link)

:starmod: Elecricity/gas bill arrived and it came in under budget. :j Reduced my monthly Direct Debit by £2.50 and switched to a new fractionally cheaper Fixed Price tariff as our Fixed price one expires in the Summer.

:starmod: List OH's old camera bag on eBay. Done

:starmod: List old laptop on eBay. Done

:starmod: Bought a CD I wanted yesterday at a good price.

:starmod: Watch tv recorded over night.

:starmod: Fix four new wheelie bin numbers bought at less than £1 so neighbour can't claim they're his. Done.

:starmod: Deal with a few things I've been avoiding. Not going to go away on their own.

    Freebies

:starmod: Free access to Ancestry.co.uk this coming weekend: (Link)

Well that's me for today. Good luck on your quests, Jedis.

    Morning all :j
Grandma day today, so just sneaking on for a minute while baby is asleep :)
Not much done so far, except for sweeping up all the crumbs DGD made when I was going to share a scone with her earlier and she decided to eat all of it :rotfl:

    To do later:
    Check banks
Wash hair in a minute before she wakes up as I didn't get the chance to do it this morning
Take baby and dog for a walk this afternoon
Meals from stores - HM tomato sauce from freezer with filled pasta and salad for dinner tonight :)
Clear up once baby has gone home with her Mum
    Collapse in a heap!

Should be a NSD though :D

    Morning all

I overspent yesterday but was able to adjust my budget to fit so I'm not kicking myself for it.

Today looks like it will be a spend day - sister is home from a gap year and wants to go to a local sandwich shop for lunch. She has forgotten her pin code having not used the card since she left the UK so I suspect I might end up paying...

I am back to work tomorrow and will probably need to fill the car up. I need to get off my backside and go be productive with my remaining time off :rotfl:

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All
So my easy morning turned into a bit of a marathon. Left the house at 9 to go shopping. Lidls is a bit further away than Sains or Mr Ts. Took my rucksack & 3 large reusable bags with me. Spent £2.56 in Sains on route as I needed toothpaste that son actually will use, hes fussy. And fab softner & basics washing powder. Lidl dont do the small sizes I want. So. Then I went on to there & spent £37.54 on a huge shop. My budget is £40 for the week so I am 11p over, so sue me :)
I stuggled home with the haul. It was ridiculous to do it actually, I mustnt. But I am pleased with it all.
Twiggy - I know you use Checkoutsmart & use Lidls and Aldi. At the moment they are giving a 25p credit for any shop in either store. So thats 27p I've earned today just by uploading my Sains recipet to claim the 1p & prize entry, then doing the same for Ls plus the ad hoc 25p.

I think the only other thing I will need to buy this week is cat food as our calculations on the massive sack we have seem to be out by 1 week, & bread again most likely. I got 2 loaves today, but it never seems to last in our house.

Has anyone else noticed that TopCashback is down this afternoon?

Oh & having cancelled Experian and now using Noodle, does anyone else find that they are super slow updating their totals? All my figures are from either late December or early Jan. No matter but its nice to see the figures coming down.

Ziggy - I am reading the Tightwad Gazette, which is flipping massive, & Warren Buffets book The Snowball. Its awesome. Husband gave it to me for my 30th. 6 years on I am just finishing it. I blame the child in between :)

    Bob

P.S Ali - No slaps allowed Im afraid, only hugs.

And for the love of god, we dont say the F word on here Twiggy!

Bobarella - Thanks I'd spotted that on Checkoutsmart and am currently flattening out my receipt under my lunch box!!!

However, slightly confused which F word I used! Just for clarification I think I'm going to say it again - it is "forgot"?!?!? If not, I'm completely baffled as I've scanned my posts for other words beginning with F!!!

And yes I do find Noodle slow - had an email to say my account was up to date but like you it was end of Dec! However, my score has gone from 3/5 to 4/5!
