Yes, and the local police in his area informed me to report to my local police who informed me to contact A/F who informed me it would be passed on to local police but no guarantee of action.
so buck passing and maybe no action0 -
I've looked all over the Preloved site for a forum to discuss this fraud and similar, (another person lost £2500!) no luck, plenty of places to discuss how wonderful it is though.
update, bypassed Action Fraud and the local police are coming round, not sure what will come of it.0 -
With his address you can always lodge a Small Claim, but ultimately there's always a risk sending money to someone you don't know via the Internet.

I know a few people who've been stung - at least you got his details first.0 -
But is it his real address?mattyprice4004 wrote: »With his address you can always lodge a Small Claim0 -

Of course not.
If I remember correctly, wasn't his address Thurso?
By 'choosing' that address, he was pretty sure that very few people would be willing to collect.0 -
My bank has said it will allow me details of the BACS transaction, which would include his real name, etc. Though I will wait to see if that happens0

Stick his bank account number in google.
Bit of a long shot but you never know, maybe others have been stung and he was using the same bank account.0 -
When I used sort code checker, this came up, 'R Raphael and Sons PLC'
http://www.raphaelsbank.com/about/about-us.html
its a very old independent bank, not sure why someone who addressed me as pal' and uses hip hop language would be using that bank, should I ring them?
this is the number he was using, btw, Vodaphone 07909574584.
update, it was sold and is now mostly foreign exchange and fast transactions, why am I not surprised.
but reading T and C you have to be in U.k, so he is in the country, dog and bone now.0 -
Of course you should ring them. The worse they can do is say sorry we cannot help you.Articulate25 wrote: »When I used sort code checker, this came up, 'R Raphael and Sons PLC'

Maybe they have had lots of enquiries from previous victims... who knows.
